  1. Its ALWAYS good to hear from the Felix and his buds... great conversations discussing what we all are thinking, agree or disagree it's always insightful. Another great show!!!!!
  2. Next time you tell em my 180 is the kind followed by a comma not a decimal point.
  3. Wow… and he wonders why he can no longer access CAF? ”Strange it just seems to be down for me…weird.”
  4. Bill sorry to hear that… at least he didn’t say “he’s my favorite artist and if you’d find it in your heart to let the piece go I can die happy and complete!” before cussin’ you out.
  5. What I’ve been noticing is the work from those who are not the superstars of the hobby are fetching prices too close to the greats. If I had pieces by those guys, I would unload it ALL right now and take that money and buy the all star artists’ work. Two or three vintage pages from Mr. Third Tier will fetch enough to get a nice representative page from Mr Rockstar.
  6. Cool! Hey man congrats on bringing one down!!!
  7. For me, the MOST IMPORTANT process would be to put my absolute caps on pieces and jot em down, so when the bidding frenzy starts, I already have my most uncomfortable last bid figured out. Once it passes that amount, I’m done… I’m a spectator. This lets me take the heat of battle emotions out of it when trying to figure out whether or not to place another bid, and keeps me from paying 1st tier artist prices for a 3rd tier artist work ; )
  8. Almost go time... Will the record prices continue? Which piece will be the bargain of the auction? Which C list artist will have a jaw dropping result for a mediocre piece of art? The answers to these and many other questions will be answered today at HA comic art auction. So buckle up and prepare to empty your wallets.. and always remember "The more you bid the more it's worth!" Good luck guys and gals!
  9. That said, I have moved about all I can without now feeling a big time pain with my next move ; )
  10. IF the selling of a piece lands me a piece that is more important, I feel no pain AT ALL. Sure I would like to have a lot of pages back, but looking at what I've gained by letting go, I find it was totally worth it.
  11. I would think it would be shipped within a week... strange that they take that long.
  12. Bill you just need to duplicate yourself so you can add 4 or 5 more shows a week!
  13. My two transactions with ES have both been extremely positive good customer service and shipping charges were in line with everyone else (3 or so years ago).
  14. Two of those pages have no heroes or action. I would guess those are the hardest type of pages to unearth. Those seem like the kind of pages that an artist would just give to a random nice fan at a convention waaay back in the day. It’ll be interesting to see if you can dig em up... best of luck.
  15. Thanks for pointing this out, it may be an important lifeline for the actual DC comic BOOKS. I was beginning to worry they were about to go away under the AT&T leadership. SNIKT!
  16. I’m with Scott quite an odd little cover to be a record breaker. At first glace, it appears to be a more of preliminary study than a finished cover. That said, Leyendecker is the bee’s knees!
  17. Bisquito is right, it was nice to hear another great Felix podcast, wonderful job. Now I have to watch some Zahler movies!
  18. I think it’s customary to get a comp copy of the book, at least that’s what IDW does with their Artists Editions. I’d be interested to hear what Marvel policy is in regards to comp copies. Is it one comp book per scan provided, one comp per person regardless of the number of scans, or is it nothing at all?
  19. Namor Marrina the power couple of the seven seas
  20. Thanks for the salt in the wounds, I mean pictures of the art con I wasn’t attending ; ) Hope everyone had a great time!
  21. I went a few years back. What struck me was after the show everyone bolted. I wanted to hang an get to know some of my online friends better. A couple of us hung out and chatted for an hour or so, but that was it. For the regulars- Is Saturday night the night to hang at the bar and talk art? Maybe I just missed it by a night.
  22. nm New Money in the hobby Nice Meeting friends at cons No Money in the bank and finally to sum up the collector gene: NEED MORE!!!
