I'M GONNA CLEAN UP! I'm fixin' to fill a lot of holes in my collection, I just need the prices to hold steady for 2 days. Hey a man can dream can't he?

If possible, we need to get all these photos gathered up in one gallery on CAF and SPREAD THE WORD by sharing the link to that gallery! Hopefully the thief tries to sell one and we catch him quickly... so sad.

What I have been doing over the last 5-10 years is upgrading the condition of my X-Men run. Nothing graded or in super high probably averages around 7 but that is a substantial upgrade to my readers (I was really a bargain hunter as a kid/teen). I am only doing this for 94-143. That's been a fun exercise and it gives me something to hunt for... always looking for a small fix. Now for the 1-93 I still pick up beat up copies, I like those to show their age more creases, chips, even an owners name on the cover is fine for these. The main reason is I want to have them in my collection BUT not so bad that I want to pay up for them so a beat up copy of the Mimic's appearance suits me just fine, just happy to see it when I flip though my X-Men box. X-MEN BABY! SNIKT!!!

Over the years I probably have gotten 8 signatures on several books... BUT I can't bring myself to get anything semi-valuable (over $20) to be signed. That's my metal hurdle... and at this age I aint jumping over any hurdles ; )

I hear ya... $20 is a good target for my comic books purchases. I will sometimes drift north of that but I really don’t mind the lesser condition copies. There’s a certain charm to a well read comic!

The ape asked for more discussion/topics, so here goes.... Where are you at? I was just about all out on comics book buying when I got hooked on comic art. In recent years my comic art buying has trailed off, now it seems like my interest in comic books is rekindled. I’ve been picking up a collectible back issue here and there. I find I really enjoy the affordable little rush in added random semi key issue. I’m still a Marvel guy, but I have to admit if I see a old early JLA I just might buy it. Where are you in your collecting, any shift of focus? I heard the Ape is selling all his bananas and moving into plantains. He wants out before the generational shift!

A pretty fair fight - the shirtless hairy guy looks to have a slight edge in the strength department, HOWEVER the other combatant‘s fancy attire seems to suggest he’s done well for himself so he must be cunning and quite intelligent. It’s a classic battle of brains vs brawn. I will go against popular opinion and place my bet on the hairy guy solely because of the classic Obi-Wan “I have the high ground” advantage.

OK now we going to step it up a notch This or That... PEREZ OR BYRNE?!? How’s a collector to choose, it’s like choosing your favorite child, sure you know but you dare not say ; )
