  1. Wow a stunner!!! Knowing nothing of the strip, this is a killer setup with excellent art and I MUST know more!
  2. “100% of the proceeds will go to the World Central Kitchen.” COOL!
  3. Kinda sad to think that after the auction house cut, the IRS’ cut and the buyers state sales tax .. Jon prob got about half the total money paid for the artwork. Strike that… HE STILL DID ALRIGHT!!!
  4. Merry Christmas to everyone…. Hope next year OA falls like snowflakes into y’all’s collections!
  5. Good luck on your auctions. If these are your consignments this post probably should be moved to the Original Art Marketplace. It’s our selling sub forum.
  6. Alex, that Superman daily is really a great example WOW surprised Roy Liechtenstein didn't use any of the 3 panels for one of his paintings, each one has a completely POP art feel to em! What a beautiful daily.
  7. There ya go! Good art without breaking the bank… well done!
  8. No need to worry there are MANY of us that feel the exact same way. When a page by Johnny Journeyman sell for about 2/3rds that of a true artistic legend, I just scratch my head and shrug. I wouldn’t take 10 J Journeyman pages for 1 page by Mr Legend. There was a time where those pages were placed in a correct price relation, but that is no longer the case.
  9. Byrne is still posting on his site. He has made a couple posts today. Now if you go there to see new Byrne art, yes you'll be dissapointed... he has kinda retired from drawing.
  10. I added 1 piece this year, mission accomplished... still active in the hobby. 1 or 2 small meaningful pieces a year are enough for me. I don't particpate in the "greater fool" investing theory... I won't pay more than the piece is worth to me, so of course it keeps purchacing levels down.
  11. Fess up who owns the birth Lasagna strip?!? It would blow black costume Spidey birth page out of the water ; )
  12. Dare to dream that this pops up: would love to see the OA for this bad boy!
  13. https://www.fpguniverse.com/original-painted-masterpieces Looks like all the paintings are already finished! If you scroll down halfway you’ll start seeing the illustrations. From the image they show the size is a bit smaller than a comic book. Most are single figure with no background some do have a hint of a background. I have to give it to him for getting these completed in a timely manner were the buyer won’t have to wait long for their painting!
  14. When you see edited on my post, just know I'm trying to be more positve and sometimes a lil snarky comment has to be deleted. Hey man, I'm trying to do better. : )
  15. Saw a couple of small pieces I was interested in for reasonable prices, but ultimately passed on em. I think CAL is a plus for the hobby and maybe if prices settle down it will also start to be more active.
  16. If you dig around the "ComicArt Live - Anyone Buying thread" you quickly find the discussion. There are some interesting thoughts on the topic.
  17. How cool is that?!? There’s a heck of a lot of inspiration packed in those books. Just a killer selection.
  18. I like how your podcast episodes are like a web with the interconnecting stories... this one can be a nice companion to go with the Scott Free, Scott Williams and Albert Moy episode playlist. These really capture the collecting scene from the 80-90s... now where's my timemachine! I feel the affection that everyone has for Richard Martines, a nice, fun guy with a great perspective on the hobby... he gives our hobby a good name! Thanks Felix!!!
  19. I like people who are enthusiastic about this fine hobby … so of course I’m a FAN OF MARCUS!!! And also the Grape Ape too ; )
  20. Thanks so much for the video and great photos, nice of y'all to take the time to do that!
  21. Back in 2000 I went to Mid Ohio con and saw several of the Byrne Wonder Woman and Spider-Man Chapter One pages. That’s where I noticed a lot of these were inked with ink that was watered down (prob to enhance ink flow). The art looked nice but it was not the super dark ink you come to expect. So like a genius I passed on several pages I would have bought if they weren’t a bit ink washy. Back then condition was more of a factor than today. ink too washy - Pass too much white out - Pass not enough front facing heroes - Pass Real smart!
  22. Man it is a very nice Deathlok cover, just checked it out on their website. Here the link for those who are interested: https://www.coollinesartwork.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=314711&ArtistId=393&Details=1&From=Room
