  1. Our local fancy wine shop has you order and pay online. Come to the door and get your bag. 2 guys inside. No customers inside. The closer shop had no online capabilities and they are closed.
  2. It is a huge winter coat. Cootie corner for 3 days should suffice.
  3. You know, I did edit my post right away to sound nicer, but you quoted my original draft. I'll remember that if you need toilet paper. Anyway, I'm in a pickle with my mother as she should be staying with me, but cannot get up my stairs to the bathroom, so it's not feasible.
  4. Someone totally needlessly brushed up on the back of my coat in the supermarket today. I considered yelling at her but decided she might cough on me. I thought about burning my coat when I got home, but it cost $200 so I put it in the corona corner to let the cooties die.
  5. Folks thought the CA and BA books were 9.8s And didn't do a prescreen?
  6. Half of me says I should be hunting a bit more for stuff that may be a bit down right now. The other half of me thinks that is really stupid because who knows what the market will be like after this.
  7. Supermarket cashiers now make $15 an hour in NYC. If anyone thought they weren't "earning" it before, they sure as heck have earned it the last month and then some.
  8. Feinstein has a blind trust, her husband did the selling, she also was not pooh poohing the thread of covid19. And It was in a pharma biotech stock, which is not the first thing you think will crash during a pandemic, but almost everything is getting dragged down. On the other hand, she is really rich, should have just eaten the loss for appearances sake.
  9. Not to be a nitpicker, and while I understand why you may feel compelled to shop for her, why are you bringing mom? MIne is a shut in right now. Thankfully she lives in a large apartment building, has friends, etc. so I don't need to do 2 hour round trip for every hiccup. And for weeks I have been making sure she has enough non-perishable food (which she had anyway no thanks to me...).
  10. My wife is an epidemiologist. The host was an obgyn and invited other doctors
  11. Seriously, shouldn't dobie have been krappping his pants about being drafted for nam???
  12. Set the box on fire. The virus does not like extreme heat.
  13. Aren't we talking about the 1994 Gen13 #1, which only had one cover?: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gen-13-1-1994-Image-VF-NM-Vol-1-1st-Print-Jim-Lee-J-Scott-Campbell/264654359603?hash=item3d9ea10c33:g:ZwIAAOSwL9peXZ9w It must have had a decent print run, but not 500K or whatever. I remember that one being $30-$50 on the wall. I remember trading 1 - 4 in for store credit and getting a couple of GA Captain Marvels.
  14. paper and cardboard. porous I guess, not moisture resistant.
  15. I have all my packages delivered to my 82 year old mother who then ages them in her apartment for 1-2 months before I visit and pick them up. Do you think this is a bad idea nowadays?
  16. Mist the box with ethyl alcohol or scrub it with soap and water for 20 seconds?
  17. I think the TP shortage thing is overblown. Does a brita filter not make your water palatable?
  18. It looked like a clusterphuck. But so did suicide squad, which was a bad movie too, but made money, so they figured it didn't matter?
  19. Is anyone actually going to movies? I think they did a lousy job of promoting it.
  20. We went through this in 2008-2010. I was still selling stuff then. I think there were less hyped "hot" books then, but they were still there.
  21. Our stores have stuff here in NYC. Smaller apartments mean less space for hoarding I guess. Yes, they are out of some stuff, but plenty of milk, for example. Chicken and pork. Not much bread, but ok for paper products. TONS of Ketchup.
  22. Seemed funny at the time because other than few Alex Jones types the feeling was that Ebola wasn't likely landing here
