  1. Seriously, my local supermarket is at capacity with TP. the only difference is that it is not on sale. but regular "retail" price.
  2. With that said I was looking at some BA keys I like to eyeball, not in HG, and I am not noticing any great deals. An ugly All Star Western 10 went for over $100.
  3. We are doing fewer tests in order to report lower numbers
  4. At least the big chains. I honestly think trump wouldn't allow closure, he practically just said so. NYC is going into lockdown. Sucks to be me.
  5. They're not closing supermarkets. But supply chains could get messed up. While I have 2 fridges I am regretting not having a floor freezer.
  6. Frankly I keep on hearing about TP shortages but all the stores around me have plenty. I have over 100 jumbo roles, I think we are fine. We use one about every 2-3 days
  7. It is most deadly to the elderly and the immuno compromised. But then again, it could mutate worse and be deadly for everyone.
  8. Someone will think you are a commie tree hugger and pay in 30 days
  9. Likes on facebook are meaningless as they represent the lowest rungs on the evolutionary ladder, only likes here from the confederacy of geniuses that is the CGC boards matter
  10. Rarely, unless you have a raw seller where folks think they're tighter than cgc. Sure, there are exceptions. People get wrapped up in a dumb bidding war sometimes. I lost track of what the book was worth as a slab.
  11. You're looking for better stuff. There are deals to be had on under $50 books. Of course, I haven't been to a show in 2.5 years, but I digress
  12. Your position is economically irrational. You'd rather pay $80 on ebay than $79 at a show?
  13. They did not give you "likes" because those books are garbage. Send them to me so that I can properly dispose of them.
  14. Who is to judge what a "wrong reason" is? The only wrong reason I can think of is to use the comics to lure children into your windowless van.
  15. Duct tape makes everything better. We used to joust, on our bikes, no helmets, no knee pads, shorts on asphalt... Ahhh, the 70s and early 80s when traumatic head injuries were part of growing up.
  16. I am am old man, not part of "like" culture. I don't "like" anything on FB because the person I lime may have "liked" something posted by someone who once made a racist post, so that would apparently mean I an a racist too (law of communicative property or something). My wife yelled at me for not liking something and I was all "are you f-ing kidding me???"
  17. The folks on the high grade FB page care. I see lots of slabs being bragged about on FB. Which one are you on?
  18. Otoh our annual neighborhood yard sale is generally good for $2-300. This year I hope we are ready for it. Usually I run around like crazy for the hour before we open trying to find stuff.
  19. I get the people offering 25 cents for an item marked $2 that is an unopened $20 item. Or being sneaky... My wife sold vintage costume jewelry. Each item was in a clear bag with a marked price. Guy comes, takes them all out of their bags, making it impossible for me to figure it out, and then asks how much, and is offering about 10% of what they had been priced, so 50 cents for thing she had marked $5"that would be $25 in a store. But yeah, I love the 25 cent offers, as if I desperately need 25 cents. Some of it is cultural I guess given that I live in a melting pot.
  20. Hah. And you thought you were leaving difficult people back in New York? They followed you!
  21. I know I wanted one of these bad. I remember my dad taking me to a few places in manhattan to try and find one, but they were sold out. Actually having to physically hunt something down? Eegads. I eventually settled for a copy of the comic.
  22. You're asking about a trinket. I'm thinking about the reverence I had for my dad. He knew everything and could do everything. At some point I realized that was not true, sure, but when I was young. ..
  23. I have an 8 and 14 year old, so no. Realistically 10 more years minimum. And yeah, I would go somewhere warmer and cheaper. New York actually has a good and relatively cheap public university system (at least for now), so it is worth hanging around to ensure in state status for my kids, who I assume will go to college.
  24. F candy. I want to retire. Like now. Run my comic empire from my home like Bob Storms. So F-ing tired. Not gonna happen, but I can still fantasize.
