join Brandon in thanking you for making more than just this book a reality in 9.8. I have also benefited from your submissions, and have at least one other super hard to find book from this set in 9.8 because you were smart enough to grab these later printings ‘back in the day.’

If I remember correctly @joeypost worked on both books!

Congrats again Brandon, those look great together and it’s so much fun to read about them in your Journal!!

You are both welcome.  I have enjoyed being able to , not only have these as long as I did , but to have been able to pass them on to other collectors who appreciate them as much as I have.

    Thank you both!

FYI, CGC has my books.  No thanks to USPS for failing to update the status.

I sent four cool books for George Perez (hopefully he will live longer):  New Teen Titans #1, Tales of Teen Titans #44, DC Comics Presents #61 (I am the original owner and it has 9.8 candidate) and Crisis on Infinite Earth #7 (Death of Supergirl).

Glad they do have your books  . I am sure with this signing there were even more of a flood than most, due to the circumstances.

Which has only furthered the overload they have been trying to dig out of , at the same time I am very glad they are doing this and the labels as they go to help.

My heart goes out to the Perez family.

Thank you for your reply! Really thanks. Maybe there’s hope that UPS will find my books. I feel a little bit better knowing that there’s a chance that CGC might still accept them. I’ll raise a drink to you tonight when I’m having a few or more! 🥃

You are welcome and welcome to the boards.

Also this is actually a post inside of my journal here on the boards. Not a regular post you see in other general areas. Not that it matters to me . I am always open to more posts . I use the journal to document my submissions as well as share them with other members.  It helps me keep track of what I have sent.

I hope they do get this sorted out for you. (Both UPS and CGC. )

Definitely enjoy the drinks and good luck!

I sent 2 books to CGC via UPS for George Perez’s signature on JAN 27th.

    JLA/Avengers #3

    Avengers/JLA #4

Interstate shipping wasn’t even necessary. It was from Jacksonville, Florida to Sarasota, Florida. I anticipated and the Manager at the local UPS agreed that the package would be delivered the next day. I didn’t expect a problem meeting CGC’s January 31st deadline.

As of today, nothing and the UPS Manager opened an “investigation” on my behalf because the last known location of the shipment was on Friday, January 28th at the UPS processing facility in Sarasota.

The local UPS Manager has been very helpful and kind but I’m sick about it. At this point, I just hope that UPS recovers the books undamaged. I’m very sad that even if UPS recovers the books, CGC will just say, “too bad it’s too late.” It’s terrible because of the unfortunate circumstances and special nature of George Perez’s in-house signing.

I suspect theft. CGC should really consider an alias name and address for receiving shipments. CGC’s name and the artist’s initials on the box are a dead give away to anyone in the know that the contents are comics for signature/grading.

I wonder if CGC will accept the books if UPS pulls a miracle and find them? If not, will CGC refund or credit my $202?

If I ever do this again, I’m driving the 3 to 4 hours to Sarasota and delivering the books myself.

The George Perez aspect is really bothering me. The news of his health was so sad, I grew up admiring his work, and I was in awe at how cool he is to say that he wanted this opportunity to connect with his fans.

    Totally down today.

Sorry to hear this. It definitely is very unfortunate.  CGC may still accept them if they make it before the signing, but that will solely be up to their discretion. They shouldn't have to refund or credit you as they do not charge until it hits certain stages. If you opt for press then once they are checked in they charge you for the pressing.  Once it makes it back from CCS to CGC then you are charged the grading.

    Good luck!

    Fantastic thead, and great book.

Did you use CCS for the press? (Assuming so since they had to crack the slab.)

    Thank you.

All of my journals are pretty much just ways for me to keep track of my submissions.

No. I cracked the slab and window bagged it myself before sending it off. With the in house signings if you want it pressed you have to use CCS and yes I definitely had them press it.

I should have submitted via express, I have had books scheduled for grading since 9/12/21 zzz

I definitely still have many books waiting in various cues and some way longer.  The 8 months was just the time it took at the press and clean.

Although luckily the Express pipeline must have been clear when this landed as it only took roughly a week to get through!
