  1. Yep. For me, anything with a Daisy BB gun. Don't have a pic handy, but the back of Batman 251 is a particularly good one because I identified with the kid so well at that age.
  2. I just want to know if she gets nekid in this movie like Motoko in the anime
  3. I don't think he actually does. The ending scene, at least to me, implied that all Lex wanted was Supes removed to make way for "him" (i.e. Darkseid).
  4. Tec 423 has a very underrated and forgotten cover in my opinion. When you see that scene in the BvS trailer with Bats holding a rifle on top of a tower, everyone refences TDR, but Kaluta did it before Miller. It's probably my 3rd favorite Kaluta cover next to Bats 242 and Tec 424.
  5. Ah, the good ol' days when it wasn't a PC issue to advertise Daisy BB guns in comics.
  6. I can only think of one minor character by R.E. Howard called the Vulture that got killed off by Conan and Red Sonja. Appeared prominently on the cover of Conan 22, but didn't actually appear until issue 23 due to a missed deadline. I would imagine if there are other instances, it would have probably been the same situation that caused it.
  7. Plus, there's still more revenue pending when the Blu-Ray goes up for sale. Especially if Snyder offers an extended cut right out the gate.
  8. It absolutely counts as the first appearance. Well, when you're trying to make a sale anyway.
  9. Although the Batman/Joker interview scene is not a bad second either
  10. My favorite scene is the final soliloquy Jim Gordon makes in The Dark Knight as he watches Batman limp off into the night and selflessly taking the blame for Harvey Dent's death. An incredible cliffhanger that left me sitting on pins and needles until the release of The Dark Knight Rises.
  11. Despite the fact that I liked the movie, the worse part of it for me was watching this guy on screen channeling his inner Lex "Joker" Luthor. Yeah, I'd say that was the most annoying part of the movie. Lex to me, has always been a character that has exhibited control and wants to exude control. This guy was twitching all over the place. It would have been more acceptable if he referred to himself as Lex Jr. and giving us the impression that the "real" Lex Luthor had died off.
  12. OK. Saw it tonight with my son. Expectations were low and I was all ready to hate on it, but to my surprise, I honestly liked it. Sure, there were a lot of stupid plot points and a few other things that was overdone, but it was no where near the suck fest that the critics made it out to be. The motivations for Lex engineering the fight didn't make sense until after I heard him cackling at the end, then it all hit me. Whether this is the result of poor execution or just too many editing cuts, we won't know until the extended version comes out, but there's actually some deep thought put into this setup for things to come. I'm guessing unless you're familiar with the mythology, most folks didn't see the bigger story arc that Snyder was trying to weave here through all the CGI glitz. One thing I disagree with most folks though. I really wasn't impressed with WW's extended cameo. It didn't suck, but it didn't blow me away either. It probably would have been better to omit the other cameos as well. Was also expecting an empty theater at the 7:00pm showing, but a pretty good crowd showed up tonight. I say it about 2/3 full. Not bad for a Wednesday night I would imagine.
  13. Why stop there? Why not thrust the spear into Doomsday herself? That would have been awesome. WW would have witnessed it and it would have completely turned her on to see another female warrior. Lois will dump Clark and the two of them will scurry off for some HOT girl-on-girl action. . . . . . . . Hey, the movie is train wreck already so why not ? It couldn't hurt.
  14. I think the motivations for Bats fighting Supes would have made more sense if Lex caught Bats stealing something (i.e. data) that would have exposed him. In desperation to get the info back or quash it before it gets out of hand, Lex would force Supes to attack Bats.
  15. I don't normally follow the box office numbers, but according to BoxofficeMojo, the film had a great weekend despite the trainwreck reviews. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=4171&p=.htm
  16. I think there'd be a lot less angst about this if Nolan's The Dark Knight was not dissed by the Academy a few years ago. It was a legitimate top 5 in my opinion and I wasn't even involved in the hobby at the time. A nomination would have gone a long way to dispel any insecurities about mainstream biases towards the "nerd" culture.
  17. I think at this point, I'm losing interest fast. My son still seems to want to go, but he doesn't know any better.
  18. ! From some of the reviews, maybe Snyder actually made that sequel to Suckerpunch that he always wanted, but fooled the studio into thinking it actually had something to do with Batman and Superman.
  19. Just finished Season 2 of DD. I really can't see Marvel/Netflix (or just Marvel alone if Netflix can't afford it) NOT extending this version of the Punisher in either his own series or stand alone movie. This version of the character could very well likely become the money maker that the first three movies tried to be.
