  1. I'm hearing some surprisingly good things about this movie. You wouldn't know it from the lack luster marketing campaign, but it's still good to know this movie might give the franchise a much needed boost. RIP to Leonard and Anton on this one.
  2. Interesting idea. I'd wonder if the network execs would have the balls to cast an actress with big boobs. Although I'm not a Katy Perry fan and she probably can't act to save her life, I can imagine her with short, blonde hair wearing the outfit.
  3. I actually got these a couple of weeks ago, but for whatever reason, I forgot to post it here.
  4. Beautiful book. I remember buying that off the rack when I was in the 1st grade. Couldn't really read all the words back then, but Kirby's visuals were enough to tell me what was going on. The man really put out some exciting stuff for DC back in early '70s. Way ahead of it's time in my opinion.
  5. OK. Full disclosure, I had to see this for myself hence me chasing the early PG appearances
  6. Following my current Power Girl kick, I was looking for a few cheap reader copies of PG's early appearances, but I wounded up picking up All Star Comics #59-61 in high grade since they were relatively cheap. Issue #60 is a Tongie Farm 9.4. Lo and behold, I agree with the grade this time.
  7. I think she's wrong for the part, but who knows.
  8. Can't compare to the Bats 121, but here's some stuff I found in a drek box that seemed too good to walk away from. I guess it still pays to look through the $1 bins.
  9. Don't normally buy moderns, but I've recently been enamored with Palmiotti/Connor's run on PG after reading the Harley/PowerGirl trade. Picked up the entire run on the cheap. Man, some of these covers are hypnotic. It's cool to actually be able to read the books I buy for a change.
  10. Reader copy of ASC #58 (and accessory) came in today. What's with the lotion?
  11. Picked these up in a drek box today. I bought the Doomsday +1 #5 off the stands back in the day and was glad to find a cheap reading copy (great early Byrne art), but I did a double take when I noticed the Charlton logo was missing. I left comics back in '83, but even then, I had no idea these existed. I assume Modern Comics is to Charlton as Whitman is to Marvel.
  12. OK. I'm going to admit it. I really like watching these series so far. Full disclaimer though, I've never read the series.
  13. Reader copy of ASC #58 (and accessory) came in today.
  14. Now this really ticks me off. Can you care less? Well, I supposed you could. Luckily, she survived the trip, but box got so much handling wear, the # of 5000 got rubbed out and I can barely make it out.
  15. My CL winnings just came. I am floored at the ASC #58. I can't believe this book is not a 9.8. It blows every 9.6 I have out of the water and is on par if not better than some of my 9.8s. I'd be curious to see the grader's notes on this one.
  16. Yeah, that news stand pic looks a bit Photoshop'd to me as well. For baseball card collector's, here a REAL photo from 1952 that is truly swoon worthy.
  17. Yeah, I know. Hated the story when I first read it, but it's grown on me over the last couple of years to to the point I actually like it. It's literally bat-mess crazy, but in a good way unlike Neal Adams Odyssey. Besides, the local Barnes and Nobles were unloading these at dirt cheap prices, hence the read dot sticker on the cellophane.
  18. My son on the other hand, has a few more. Alas, he seems to have lost interest in reading comics the last year or so. Still loves to watch the Flash on TV though.
  19. I only have one. This 2010 comiccon version from the game.
  20. Moving a few things around today. Figured I'd take a pic while I'm at it. Don't get to look at these all that often
