  1. I now want to see Merle as the wise, compassionate old guy in the group in season 3. You started it - "People for a Kinder, Gentler Merle".
  2. Darabont has been good to him throughout the years continously casting him in various projects. I would have been surprised if Jeffrey DeMunn continued to stay on board, like Alexandra Holden (another Darabont vet... The Mist) without saying or doing anything. My Very true - The Mist is such a weird movie now with all the Walking Dead ties. Thomas Jane (cast as Rick when the show was initially shopped) is in it too. DeMunn got a SAG nomination for his performance in Darabont's adaptation of the Green Mile. Bernthal (Shane) is already tied to another Darabont project (LA Noir). Darabont takes care of his people, I'm sure DeMunn will be on the show in some form too.
  3. 66 is one of the most underrated issues in my book. Death of Dale (and the Ben/Carl event). It's sad that politics likely led to him getting the early axe in the series.
  4. All the ones at Maghen except for this one are gone as well, and it's not a bad cover at all, especially for the price: http://www.danielmaghen.com/fr/charlie-adlard-walking-dead-cover-issue-89_p41176.htm I think a lot of the driving force behind the covers selling is a tipping point aspect - people have their eyes on one, it sells, leading them to move. Some of Adlard's covers wax and wane, but I wouldn't say the ones selling are bad ones by any means. It will be interesting to see how the cover to 93 does. It has a small art space, has partially printed bluelines, and minimal character placement, but it already has 4 bids on it at the 800 mark (300 above the price on splash page from what I remember).
  5. So true. I remember it on Splash page about 3-4 months ago. I wish Adlard didn't use bluelines for part of the background on this one.
  6. Somebody popped the cover to 93 on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160780918185?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649#ht_500wt_1264
  7. Well, well, well...I'd love to know the full story on this scenario. Didn't someone say he had an offer at 8250?
  8. I got these two WD pages in today - one of the last "quiet" scenes before the Guv attacks the prison and the other of Rick/Douglas with a cameo by the tombstone of Alexander Davidson: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryRoom.asp?Order=Title&GSub=129204
  9. I'll cast another vote for 53. Eugene essentially served in a plot movement role, and poor Abraham looks like a cross between Hulk Hogan and an 80s GI Joe figure. I wish they would do something with Abe, but he's just there. It would be cool if he took over the Alexandria camp since Rick is away. Totally OTC, but I miss comic book Dale.
  10. Congrats on the graduation and the cover! Both are superb!
  11. I was just reading this story last night. Douglas makes it clear that he burned a walker and passed it off as Davidson's corpse, so that's who would be buried under the 'Davidson' tombstone. I'd assume there's a pretty decent chance he's alive and will pop up in the story at some point. I hope so - it would be pretty cool. It's a two year long story-thread, about time to get some closure .
  12. Anyone read this yet? How is it? How relevant is it to the series? I liked it. It's brisk, you can finish it in a couple afternoons. It paints a very good picture of what happened in Atlanta before Rick and Company get started. There are a couple of direct tie-ins to early issues in the scenery, and at least one pretty major twist. It's worth a read IMO.
  13. Also, on that note, if you we can keep shares of U.S. Steel near their 52-week low for just a little bit longer...
  14. I've got two of the upcoming covers, but I don't necessarily think *this* Merle or Daryl will share much more in common with the tv show other than a name. At the end of the day, they are still some of the nicer covers to come around in a while - if the story is about "Chad the Chainsaw Man" who gets offed by Rick on page one of issue 97, I'm still happy.
  15. I could totally see Merle and Daryl getting killed by Rick/Abraham/Andrea at this point in their evolution.
  16. I think they will appear, but as completely different characters personality wise. More like "what if Daryl and Merle never found Rick's posse." The characters on the covers of 97 and 98 look to be wearing similar necklaces (weird anal retentive detail). This version of Merle and Daryl could be completely insane, horrible people.
  17. ARCs are sent out to reviewers of the book and a few other people. Very cool find.
  18. Nobody knows yet. It's rumored to be Daryl (or some version based on the crossbow), but it's only a rumor thus far. (With that said, I do think it's Daryl, especially with this cover looking to show Merle http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=878321&GSub=116289 )
  19. That doesn't happen in issue 75, it happens in 77. Here's the group you are referring to from 77 - it's the same as the one in 78, but very different from the group in 75.
  20. And in an attempt to get things even more back on topic, how 'bout this Davidson guy? Is he wandering around, or anybody think he might not be a real person (alternate personality of Douglas)?
