  1. I'll contribute with a fun one. I used to work in a WB Studio Store and sold the animation art. I left with a few cool items, but one that I didn't buy when I had the chance was the Women of Gotham piece. 20 years later I finally tracked one down. This isn't mine, but it's the same piece:
  2. Ok, I'll bite.... What are some of the modern Marvel keys that are doing well? I know 1st Spider-Gwen, Ult. Fallout #4, but what else is moving? Young Avengers? Immortal Hulk? Venom issues? All input welcome.
  3. This is just awesome!!! Q - Are those laces / holes supposed to be part of her boot on her right leg?
  4. Nice! Jim is a great guy. I saw him sign a Bud bottle for a guy once
  5. I'm not sure I saw this coming.... According to HA's site: GaG #6: 30 total, 1 higher, 3 in 9.2 BBW #115: 69 total, 2 higher, 2 in 9.2 Ok, so fewer have come out of the woodwork... but outsold by 5K?!?!?!?! WoW!!!!
  6. Congrats! I wasn't one of the bidders, but I'm sending in my copy to be graded in my next submission! That's one of only 9 graded copies so far. Very cool!
  7. For a quick comparison: Suspense #3: Suspense #4:
  8. The book was very good, at least the first 2 volumes. It didn't end as well, but was still pretty cool - for what it's worth. I'm looking forward to the flick in November. Some of the collections are getting a few bucks too.
  9. Congrats to those MASK winners. Decent prices. Here's what the hammers were on those other 2. I think the Suspense did well (I think it's still undervalued as it's a HTF issue and overshadowed by the #3), but I did think the Power would do a bit better, even though the $4k isn't bad.
  10. Although I'm kinda more interested in seeing what these 2 do more:
  11. I just looked at that, it looks legit - I think. There are 5 in 8.0 and 8 higher with 2 in 9.2, so it's not the highest. An 8.5 last year sold on HA for $19,200. That same book sold for just under 2K in 2013, and it's not the same scan (from what I can tell): https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/horror/startling-terror-tales-11-star-publications-1952-cgc-vf-80-off-white-to-white-pages/a/121323-10405.s?ic4=ListView-Thumbnail-071515 Is this real???????
  12. Thinking of sending this one in. The defects are obvious, but I wanted to get public opinion. Thoughts? I included the indica, as it was recently asked for. I know it's beat up, but still worth what I paid for it 17 years ago.
  13. Thanks guys. That's 1 reason why I posted - to make sure I understood it. I was just in awe of watching it climb. I watched the SST go from $16k bid by bid until the end. I wonder if that makes my Mask 5.5 worth a few $'s more. I'm not gonna find out... just fun to think. More coming up soon too.
  14. Not to be overshadowed, but the STT #11, CGC 6.5 CR/OW did ok at a total of $38,582.50 w/ the juice.
  15. $54,625 + 15%. I have that at $62,818.75. WoW.
  16. Jae Lee was killer. He suffered from the disease of not thinking his stuff was good enough all the time, which caused him to re-do a lot of work. It's why he would be so slow to produce anything or on any regular basis. I have a friend that used to chat with him all the time in the early days of the internet. It's too bad because he really has a distinctive style and produced some amazing art.
  17. Things to watch... https://www.comicconnect.com/item/1006346 This one on CL as well (and a #2 too): https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FSEARCH_ADV.ASP%3Fall%3Dy%26TITLE%3D%26TITLEOPT%3DALL%26ISSUE%3D%26Condition%3D%26ConditionTo%3D%26CensusRank%3D%26SearchPageQuality%3D%26Pedigree%3D%26PRICEF%3D%26PRICET%3D%26DESCRIPTION%3Dcole%26DESCRIPTIONOPT%3DALL%26SearchRemarks%3D%26SearchCGC%3D%26EXCLUDE%3D%26CATEGORIES%3D-1%26WCATEGORIES%3D-1%26SORT%3DCATEG%26_where_forsale%3Dy%26_where_auctions%3Dy%26x%3D36%26y%3D16%26where_auctions%3Dy%23Item_1709087&id=1709087&itemType=0
  18. This is not easy for me, but I voted other wanting to give it to Everett. I'm a HUGE LB Cole fan owning well over 400 of his covers, but the way the question was phrased I can't give him the nod here. If Schomburg didn't have much interior work I'd have to pass on him for the same reason. Wood was a very close second for me. I also like the other names pointed out that weren't on the main list, Jack Cole was one that stood out to me. If nothing else it gives us all another reason to post more pretty pictures.
  19. I think I scored a 9. I hit the ASM, but was over on HoS as I'm sure most were. I saw another HoS that looked exactly the same as this one so I guessed 7.0 and was off as I missed the stains. O well, on to round 3!
  20. Thanks. Here is my "high" grade copy. It's graded now, a 2.0 I think...
