  1. Ok, I'd like to offer up some observations on this one... I believe Capullo did this, but it really doesn't look like him. I think it's the coloring and not having someone like Miki inking it. Did he color this as well? I looked, and https://www.spawnworld.com/books/ongoing/ongoing173.htm didn't say anyone else had a hand in it, just Andy Troy (I'm not familiar with him) colored the book. I'm not into the white border on the left either. I get why they may have tried it. Likely to try to appeal to the dealers that stack their books over each other on a shelf (mine does this) so they can be seen when the "standard" titles are covered. But this one is different, where the image is behind the banner and it isn't just the white with the "bug" print. I'm wondering if it was supposed to be moved over like the previous covers but it got shifted. I know his sig is off the the right, and maybe that's why they went it with this way but like that couldn't be moved. There's also so much dead space for no real reason, I'm not a fan. I'm ok with it where it makes sense but it doesn't work here. I wonder if this was meant to look more like this (pardon my weak photoshopping skills): Thoughts?
  2. I'm with you on the logo, and this may be the worst cover so far.
  3. I wondered this too, and I think this option no longer exists. Overstreet has morphed into this digitally: https://www.overstreetaccess.com/
  4. Congrats on this one! I have 2 copies, and if you added up their grades it wouldn't equal this one. Enjoy!
  5. If you got this for that much less that's awesome! I always loved this cover, if for no other reason than "My Love was Auctioned!!"
  6. Ok, this one is new to me. I knew there were 2 versions with the title differences, but is there really a difference between reds? Can't one just be glossy and one just not have a gloss to it? Is there a difference in the paper itself? I haven't bought an Overstreet in years but the last I checked it only listed 2 versions. Do we have any examples of a red vs. red?
  7. You can start here, scroll down a bit and go down the rabbit hole. It's a conversation that's been going on for a long while. Have fun! (Oh, I found this post by searching the word "red." I knew that would find something.)
  8. This is a really cool cover. It's even a partial space cover and a skull cover! The colors really can POP on a nice copy, especially with the glow on the gorgon matching the title and the red / black pointing towards (or coming from) the center. And ya gotta loge the story title, "Love from a Gorgon!" Just for fun, here's the PS Artbooks glossed-up cover:
  9. Well, don't hold out hope for a blue label if that's what you really want someday. Now that you've got his one you can always flip and/or up/side grade. And if that never happens you've got this beauty on your shelf, so you've already won.
  10. I just came across this one and wanted to share. It's available - not mine - if someone is so inclined. I think it warrants sharing. X-MEN 61 HORN Cover PSYLOCKE French Euro Variant
  11. Congrats! It's tough to get any copy and yours looks sweet. Enjoy it!
  12. Fun note... Spawn Movie in Very, Very Active Development, Predicted 2025 Release According to Blumhouse Head Jason Blum Sounds like it's in decent hands. Let's see where it goes....
  13. I was watching this one - nice pickup! I consider it a Cole cover and have one in my collection. His art was so different all the time, it can be hard to pinpoint every one of his covers he did as "distinctively" his.
  14. The painted looking coloring is interesting. Did Capullo meet Sam Keith around this time? Reminds me of the coloring on the Maxx.
  15. Thinking back, creators were experimenting with "wide-screen " comics, making them more like tv / movies. Could have been an experiment with that.
