In my opinion (and yes, I'm a huge LB Cole fan) it is his cover. It looks more like some of his romance covers at that time then it does some of his other western covers. It certainly looks colored by him. Maybe that's just me.

Just an excuse to bump this thread. I don't know who snagged this book but I hope it was a fellow boardie. This is a great copy of a rare Cole romance book that went a few days ago on HA. Congrats to the winner.

Great plug! I have 2 copies. Got one for helping contribute! I think the Power #3 and the Catman #28 are vastly different covers. A lot of the value around the Catman seems to have been because it was considered sooooooo scarce for such a long time (and it's pretty cool!). With Cole books now getting the $ that they are, a lot seem to have come out of the woodwork. I was one of the last who vastly overpaid for my CM #28 before there were 2-3 copies up for grabs at a time. However I was able to got a sweet Power #3 in 5.5 for a steal compared to what it would go for today, so you win some / lose some.

I saw from other posts that there are a bunch of books with these spots, but the one I located on-line was a 7.0 and didn't have these and looked very similar. Maybe I should have looked harder, but how can they not be some kind of defect? And I know the way it's cut isn't a huge defect, but the top of the logo was snipped too. I certainly had this lower than the DD and it killed me! Thanks for this cropped pic, BTW! On the + side, maybe a bunch of my copies would grade a LOT higher than what I'd have them at!

I'm totally with you on this. I had the LT MUCH lower than what it got. The comment said corner damage - there are NO corners! I don't get that....

Man, I'm worried about my "guesses" enough without all the dart references - I actually have to play darts tonight and you're making me nervous!
