  1. Here's the latest in the Hobgoblin run!  Hopefully @jjonahjameson11 - you approve of Mike Zeck!  Seriously, how does he sneak around NYC with this shoulder cannon?!?  Both Jack O'Lantern and Hobgoblin are in this one, so it was on my list.  I still need #286 (last Hobby cover needed below #300) and #287 to finish off the Gang War story.

As not to double post the #288 is in the recent pickups thread, where I'll be adding another in a minute....

It is a great cover, but it's not even in my top two or three favorite covers in this run...

I was curious about this so I went to MCS to verify.

Of course the #11 stands out we all knew, but you're totally right.  This run does have a bunch of more interesting ones.  The #13 I knew off of the top of my head but there's a bunch of other ones with fun perspectives or the #6 car crash cover.

When you make a custom set, did you need to pre-plan the issue sequence before creating the set?  For example, I attempted to create a custom set (a while ago, and haven't tried since) and I was randomly adding in the books I wanted as I pulled them from my long boxes.  Once they were entered, I could find no way of correctly sequencing them by release date or title and issue number.  Is there a "sort" feature/button?

Ok, I'd like to try and help out if I can.

I've got a few large custom sets and I've gone about it 2 ways but I think 1 "may" help you.  This is a tad involved, but I swear the payoff is worth it.

For my Hobgoblin set I'm going for a chronological order.  So I went to the Marvel Chronology Project's site and got all the appearances I wanted and put them in an Excel sheet.  Then I numbered them all so that when I entered them they'd be where I wanted them listed.  So my PPSSM #85 went in as a 4, my ASM #275 as a 17, and so on.  So for the most part I had it mapped out before hand so I didn't have to edit them with each entry.

However it's far from perfect, as now with new listings I just go far enough ahead to squeak anything in I need to.  So I have the recent ASM's as like 130 and the Miles Morales ones 135 or so.  I'd just have to re-number a few if I needed to, not a big deal.

But something else popped up, a few books I hadn't accounted for!  Such as a variant cover here and there, or the earlier Kingsley apps before ASM #238, so now what?  Well, you can use decimals!  So I have 2 Web of #85's, and they are 4.0 and 4.1.  A Spidey mini came out a few years ago, but it takes place around #250 so they are 11.33 or whatever.  You can squeak them in when necessary!

If I can do this for a custom set that is comprised of 5+ characters in chronological order I'm sure you can do it!  If you'd like to check out the progress:

    Good luck!!!  :fourleafclover:

  4. Slight edit / addendum...   updated scans of PPSSM #147.  I'm putting up a new post because I wanted to highlight something.  I didn't even realize that it's one of those QES books.  I never owned one before.  I don't think I'd pay extra to get one or anything, and I'm not a fan of the stickers on the back of the slab, but the notes on the back label are kinda cool so I'm putting up the back scan.  I'd never seen or noticed one before.

Took a gander at your registry, that is some nice progress, and all around cool books! Not just the hobby goblin too

Nice to see some progression :x

Thanks man!  Here's a little more progression for ya!

First off, an important one in the Hobgoblin saga (as I'm calling it).  Even though he's not on the cover, it's where Macendale makes a deal  with N'Astrah and we all know what that eventually leads to.    This one was a decent price so I added it on to my main purchase, but first - Spectacular Spider-Man #147!

  6. Just an FYI to others, I already reported this.  I got the error when adding a new book to a custom set so I tried adding it to a competitive set.  The thing is, I was creating a "new" competitive set and it didn't like that either.  This was what I got:

I guess the errors are related.  Just a head's up all!  :foryou:

Normally I would never put forth such a query but the title does say actual pricing. So how much would my 6.0 OW/W B-3 go for these days? I really have no idea. Maybe put it on e bay for 20,000 or best offer.

I'd only put it up there if you really want to get rid of it.  I'm guessing $20k+, but that's just me.  Restored or not it's still a 6.0 and is purty!
