  1. In light of this 90k I wouldn't be surprised if that fetched well north of 100k
  2. This is padded room level crazy! A book from '84 with over 20 9.8s (up till now) does not merit 90k . I always thought Cerebus 1 in some grade not seen before would be the youngest book to reach that level
  3. Are you referring to what looks like a bit of page separation on the 9.0? I don't know that pressing would have caused that. Yeah that 9.8 is dynamite! I have a 9.8 but it's not a white like yours
  4. Thanks for your input! Curious about the creep engine effect on the first redesign holders you mentioned. I mean it would seem like wavy warping and NRs kind of sound similar. How does someone tell the difference? I think I've had a couple of those first redesign new holders that I sold but not sure? They were 100% clear though. I have a few with stubborn NRs that I'd resubmit in a second if I knew they were the "creep engine" holders you indicated
  5. I've gotten reholders back with a mixture of slabs with the traditional inner well & others with the newer design that look like they don't have one. NRs have appeared on both. You can notice what "I think" is the well on the newer design slabs by looking at the corners right under the label. You'll see it more clearly by holding the slab against a light. These do seem to be tighter slabs where the book is closer to the plastic leaving less room to maneuver a backing board
  6. Yeah my bad...was using the mobile site & didn't see the "over" on the label. Stand corrected Wonder how they would have squeezed all that info on there using the old label that had the legal disclaimer all over the back?
  7. And the dates to go with them! A couple of more sigs they'll have to either shrink the font to the point where it's not legible or use the back of the label
  8. Unfortunately I've discovered a couple of times it doesn't fully get rid of the really deep rings. When you initially insert the board the rings that are near by clear but the deeper ones gradually return as you remove the board from the holder. It does work on the lighter rings and the blotches that look like oil slicks. There's also the holders that don't have inner wells where the board may leave streaks. These limitations are why I asked about the compressed air. I haven't mustered the courage

  10. Bumping this to check for any feedback on this technique. Anything from anyone?
  11. That looks like a 9.0 to me. Maybe you could crack it, then resubmit it to, say, CBCS, for an 8.5 or even 9.0. Unless there's something happening on the interior cover like tanning or something it looks like it could have an even shot at an 8.5. It has general edge wear that comports with an 8.5 but the small spine ticks could be what keeps it at 8
  12. 110 is one id most love a Stan signature angled between Gibbons hand and spidey's leg in black
  13. It does not. It only shows that on offers sent in from the buyer Have you checked flippertools? Type in the Ebay item number. I haven't tried it in a while so I don't know if it still works? https://www.flippertools.com/tools/ebayOfferHistory/ebay-best-offer-actual-price.htm Oops sorry I just realized this is an old thread...my bad. Still may be a useful link
  14. I don't know why, but I find the hole in the lift door interesting. Did someone try and shoot him? And if so, were they a bad shot or does he actually have super speed and dodged it? The look on his face certainly implies so. Either that or the hole is a red herring and he's just trying to show off his super bulge whilst simultaneously fighting a losing battle with a droopy eyelid. This guy looks like every bully from any 80's comedy. Has that douchy yuppie look on lockdown. I'm thinking maybe a yuppie version of Carveli from welcome back Kotter?
  15. This is my favorite back cover of all time! Interesting trivia - the official nba logo was designed after Jerry West.
  16. Yeah but one of those remedies is a questionable air spraying idea that may introduce moisture inside the slab from the spray can. I'm not going near it! CGC gets a well deserved hammering in that thread!
  17. Yeah, Len Wein the same way. Romita even signs page onlys in the best possible place.
  18. Most likely. 9.8 sales bounce around. The high grades are still quite hot. A 9.6 recently went for 15k
  19. 61 is not new. I'm going to try & finish this Kingpin trilogy with 59 (1st Mary Jane cover) at some point waaaaay down the road

  21. What would you call that? Medium grail? I would think its major but wouldn't know how most would categorize it. Another smaller grail (but major for me at least) I just got in 9.2 is asm 39 currently being reholdered...shhhhh keep it on the down low
  22. IMO any *verified* signed book from someone that worked on it while improving the visual appeal is great! To me it would command a premium. I probably wouldn't pay any extra for a sig that's not visible no matter who it was. Stan is an exception in the sense there are some books he didn't work on that I'd love his sig and others I wouldn't. It would have to be an appealing signature with the cover featuring a character he helped create. Signatures = highly subjective/smaller market of interested buyers
