So they announced the Gibbon in MCU phase 4 in 2022. Anyone interested in asm 110 111 may want to strike now before the arrows go up. Someone posted an asm 110 9.8 on this or the other bronze collecting thread but I can't find it. Anyway great move by whomever that was!

Giant Size X-Men #1 and/or X-Men 94 Club
MGsimba77 replied to HeroX's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Interesting there seems to be a discrepancy in the shade of green from copy to copy. Particularly in the upper part of the cover around the marvel banner and count Nefaria. It looks like some are almost black where others are green. Anyone ever noticed that? -

Exactly, X94 will start bumping after the GSX1 craze fills up.... I feel like GSX1 prices are starting to saturate, and X94 looks very undervalued at this time compared to them... It weirdly hasn't budged very much in any grades. I don't know why considering several subsequent issues have moved more than 94. Issue #'s 96 & 104 come to mind in 9.8 at least. I agree its undervalued especially for all grades under 9.8. There's a huge value chasm between 9.8 & 9.6. Seems like you can find a 9.8 or two at any given time but good luck spotting a 9.6 blue label anywhere. Oh and all those Stan Lee signed 94s... -
They notated it was the 1st FF crossover but not his 2nd appearance. It's a disgrace I tell you! Seriously though they should consider adding in that piece of information. After 20 years

Congratulations, 2019 CGC Registry Award Winners!
MGsimba77 replied to ADAMANTIUM's topic in Comics General
Congratulations to all the winners. Well deserved and to y'all! These are the best collectors in the world!!! I had to do a double take on those silver set winners. Y'all deserve big giant keg party! I don't have a registry....yet. Looking forward to participating in near future. Should be fun! Cheers -
When would it kick in? Is this applicable to any online purchase anywhere or just Ebay? I'd imagine the unintended consequences of this would be substantial Whomever is responsible for putting forth this lawsuit to begin with deserves to suffer those consequences

No I'm in Florida. Doesn't apply to us. I think that's only in a few states

They just sent me a seller promotion of 50% off sellers fee tha expires in a few days. Its driving me nuts because there's a book in the 3k range I'm interested in selling but since I stupidly decided to have it reslabbed I obviously don't have access to it Who knows when the hell I'll get that back? It would amount to a difference of ~150. The timing gods have it in for me!!!!

I have a TOMB OF DRACULA 1 in what I believe is 9.8 condition with JERRY CONWAY'S signature on the cover. If I submit to CGC could I get a BLUE LABEL with a notation stating JERRY CONWAY WRITTEN ON COVER, or do I have to get the dreaded GREEN LABEL ?
MGsimba77 replied to Sanman9840's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
I think any of those are good choices. It just bums me out because it appears to be a super high grade copy. Just Eh...cgc isn't the end all be all of certification. He'd be fine with a competitor's slab. Personally I'd slab it with the others guys and hang it on my wall in a frame. Preferably a custom frame. Much better than having it sit in a vault -

He indicated that he got books signed before cgc came on the scene. Maybe having a reputable verification service present at the time like PSA would have helped instead of just having them signed. If he insists on having it slabbed better to go with cbcs otherwise just keep it in a nice bag & board. Perhaps put it in a custom tomb of Dracula frame and display it on the wall? -
Bump What's going on??? Whatever it is I hope he's ok! Part of why comics are so great is because it takes your mind off the shizz fan of reality

Never read the Spider-Man Clone Saga...should I?
MGsimba77 replied to Blastaar's topic in Comics General
He first spots her clone in #142 from afar. The two most interesting ones which may include the most clone material is 145 & 149. The Notre Dame cathedral that burnt down is very involved at one point when Peter goes to Paris. I'm a fan of all bronze spideys so obviously I love the idea of a Gwen clone. If for nothing else check it out for the Andru artwork! -
Every time I see this book I think of Ivonne Craig who played batgirl on the 60s show. She fit the part perfectly! Passed away recently. I love that show!

I've seen these marks on old slabs but frustratingly can never tell if they're on the inside of the slab or on the book??? They've been on both front & back. I sold the ones I had with scuffs and never had one reslabbed so I wouldn't know the answer. I just got a book in an old slab today with these marks so I'm trying to figure out what's the deal here. Anyone know where the these unsightly scuffs come from? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Incredible Hulk #181 - is it *that* red-hot?
MGsimba77 replied to Getoutandstayout's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Ok so if the OP submits the 181 as he suggested with an attached cover the label it gets depends on the discretion of cgc. I forgot about the conserved label since I haven't seen one in forever. Either way I think the alterations would be notated on the label which would impact the value. Maybe he can find a good looking "cover only" and take his chances? I'm sure they're out there -

MGsimba77 replied to Getoutandstayout's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
In that case the restoration was minor so I suppose the value of purple labels would depend upon the amount/type of restoration. Staple replacement would receive a "conserved" grade. The attachment of a cover or any piece in an attempt to complete the book to original form would also score a conserved label according to cgc https://www.cgccomics.com/comic-grading/labels/ I mean if its possible to find I great looking high mid grade front cover then staple it on while avoiding a conserved label it could overcome a lot but how likely is that? It's an interesting topic though! -

MGsimba77 replied to Getoutandstayout's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
I thought if the staples were replaced its a restored label? Anyway i gotcha but having that on an asm 3 is one thing. Personally I wouldn't be too thrilled about it on an IH 181 with so many copies. Just my 2 cents I think the qualified label would impact the 181 more than the asm 3. Then again if the op desires it more power to him! -
What's your stance on CGC's Marvel labels?
MGsimba77 replied to alexanderjk's topic in Comics General
Maybe putting those funds toward producing a presentable NR free slab would be nice -
Most valuable comic you HAD as a kid...then lost/traded.
MGsimba77 replied to Blastaar's topic in Comics General
See that's interesting because even 12 year old me who knew little about comics in my early days of going to a comic shop knew that was a grail. I mean even in rough shape. I think the cgc equivalent to G is what like ~ 2.5? I wonder if whomever you sold it to still has it?
