  1. eBay also charges sales tax in certain states. Paying sales tax on these sites depends on where you live. I have to pay sales tax on Heritage & Pedigree since they're located in FL. Sure if you're a bidder eBay would be a better bet on high priced keys being auctioned
  2. Thanks man! I don't know if it's specific with this issue but there seem to be more high grade cream to off white or just off white copies than other ASMs from its time? Noticed by skimming down the GPA sold list. Maybe it's just a coincidence? Have you thought of submitting the 28? There's already a thread here on classic SA covers that was dug some pages back. I'll post this again in new holder in the SA spider-man collecting thread
  3. Good question. I just did some amateur searching of active and sold graded copies on eBay and I couldn't find a single one where interior writing was noted on the label. I wonder how writing on all or just one of the bubbles would influence the grading? Seems like an invitation for the uninhibited young spidey fans out there to fill in some colorful expletives of their choice? How would that effect the grade??? Food for thought
  4. Word! I mean who could resist a nice looking 55???!!!
  5. Just to underscore this point, in C-link's February auction which was ~ late February a 181 9.6 ow/w & a 9.2 ow/w auctioned for 14,250 and 9,957 respectively. 9.2 was a sharp looking copy, 9.6 less so. You think these results happen on eBay with just a 7 - 10 day auction? Likely not! There was a 9.4 white on eBay sold for 11k few days ago but that was a high minimum bid auction with 1 bid so I'd probably consider that a defacto bin listing. Just my but I think this market is so incoherent at the moment because so many people insist on hastily auctioning their copies on eBay resulting in less than stellar results dragging down it's value. Great for buyers but really dumb for sellers! The results for the sellers tend to be better on the major auction houses
  6. Oh yeah I completely forgot about this! This is when he goes to rescue Jameson and Robertson when they were being held in the cathedral by cyclone. Peter was there with them on assignment for the Bugle. Later in the issue he sees Gwen's clone face to face for the first time. Thanks for posting! Still can't believe what happened! One of the oldest structures in the world. It really sucks!!!
  7. I'm going to post this here while I send it for reholdering. I've been looking for a 9.6 white since around 2015. This was listed for about a day on Reece before I jumped in. At this point I was willing to settle for just any page quality on it but I struck gold here. Persistence pays off guys!
  8. Oh ok that's the regular title from January '77 not '74 I thought you were referring to the Treasury magazine from 74 which I don't think CGC has graded
  9. You mean Spectacular Spider-Man #1 Treasury edition???
  10. Yes that's exactly what it is. I have the same book. I posted this awhile back. It's a reprint of 180, 181 with a facsimile cover replacing the cover of the book you pictured. Its from '86. It also has a brief Wolverine v Hercules story at the end (reprinted from Marvel Treasury edition 26) with a rundown of Wolverine's evolution as a character. Goes over the early artists & the relationship with Yashida etc etc.. It says it sold for 405 with 5 bids. I didn't pay anywhere near that for this! If i were to list this I'd make it clear in the title that it's a reprint however. Mine looks like a 9.4 with off white pages from looking at it.
  11. Wow that's really obscure information there about Ross! Really interesting! I didn't know anything of his personal life other than place of birth where he died & his Russian Polish heritage. He & Esposito were so close I always suspected they themselves were dating each other
  12. Yeah the ARVEL ones are silvers from all I've seen. Bronze is notorious not so much for arvels but miswraps or just having a substantial white border on the spine as an IH 182 that I have but deleted the picture. I can only guess Marvel allowed this for financial reasons? Maybe would have been too costly for them to discard the ugly wraps and replace with better looking copies?
  13. eBay auctions which last 3, 7 or 10 days are not always a true reflection of the market. Especially if the seller is not high profile member with plenty followers. eBay auctions can fluctuate wildly (for same item) depending on factors. That's why I said it's better to do it on the other sites
  14. Agree 💯%!!!! Anyone auctioning a 9.4 or 9.6 on eBay is asking to get burned! Maybe even a 9.2 If they're intent on auctioning these grades (which still is a mistake at this point) it's better to do it on Heritage, C-link or C-connect. There's always people willing to auction anything on eBay. Maybe people looking for a quick buck
  15. Safe guess there's plenty of ungraded GSXM copies out there sitting in people's collections. I don't think anyone is fooling themselves thinking this is rare by any stretch of the imagination. More interesting question is how many of those would be graded as white pages since it's a giant size book with twice as many pages? I would assume books with more pages would be less likely to be categorized as white but who knows? Maybe not
  16. I meant that people would be more likely to submit raw GSXM copies for grading. Don't know what you mean by "transferred to different containers"?
  17. Problem is not everyone has an extra 10-15k laying around to plunk down for a 9.8! Plus 9.8 have been more prone to volatility in the past Edit: make that an extra 20-30k for a 9.8!!!
  18. I think 9.4 & 9.6 are the grades that have taken a downturn. 9.8's don't sell too often so no information there. This is all incoherent Adamantium, non of it makes any sense!!!
  19. This Feige quote from the article translates into something like... (We're going to put out a bunch of irrelevant filler stuff no one will watch in the next 5 years before actually getting into relevancy with X-Men 😴). Guess you can do this when you're Disney and have more money than God! ‘How can we introduce new characters that even hardcore fans, comic fans, have barely known or barely heard of.’ That’s really exciting too.”
  20. I don't think it either hurts or helps. Not sure what you mean by the book being more scarce? If something is announced by MCU it'll actually ignite a submission frenzy causing the census to blow up. Would be the opposite of more scarce.
  21. I love these covers that show vintage fashion like this. Groovy 🌼 💟 ✌
  22. Anything with his sig has increased significantly so I'd guess it'll surpass the 179. Just curious what would be your views on a Stan signature on these issues in the 170's as opposed to the OA pieces? Assuming they're clean & well placed? Work for you or not?
  23. Are you kidding me, that Stan sig is glorious!!! Especially on the little barcode rectangle. It still works IMO since he had a lot to do with the 3 characters on the cover. Yes it's not Norman but still the goblin nonetheless. Signature obviously looks authentic but can heritage verify it?
  24. Yeah I feel the same way about the thrill of the hunt. I got an eBay alert couple weeks ago on a 9.6 ASM 70. I've been waiting years for one to pop up. Considering I'm trying my best to minimize my spending as I got my sights set on a bigger comic book target I went back & fourth debating myself on whether I should go for it or not. After a half hour of dithering finally decided to go after it. Logged on to eBay...low & behold it was gone! Someone snatched it up literally a few minutes before I logged on!!! Still kicking myself as it was a perfectly wrapped beauty! That day I was the bug
