I think the graders just got lazy. Or the label makers, if that's a role  Here's another MT I sent in for grading posted before. I don't think they notate any information on reprints. They should though. I also have #44 which reprints ASM 61 and they just notated "John Romita cover"

MT 44 is sick! That spidey sketch has lived on There's another one slightly older red cover with doc Ock that I love too

Three more crossers. All came back same grade, PQ. BTW when you hear them say at CGC that non color breaking spine ticks or slightly blunted corners can be pressed out don't believe them. I've had a few with those defects pressed with CGC and they all came back exactly the same.

Hey @Kevlar thanks for the backing board solution to address Newtown rings. Just curious would there be any way to avoid the scratch marks on the inside of the slab being reported by people trying this method? Also how could we avoid the rings coming back like I think a couple of people reported?

That's what I liked about the other guys I actually like this original one better just for the simplicity. This is one of my favorite SA covers. The splash page on this is 👍!!! I have have mine currently being reholdered because it was in one of those slabs from 2017 that didn't have the inner seal & had a bunch of small Newtown rings along the side of the slab by the spine. They were obscuring the color of the corner box a bit which was driving me crazy!

There are none but if there was it'll likely be a 9.9 not 10. I'm not even sure there are any bronze age 10s in existence? I'd Imagine it would be only slightly lower than the IH 181 9.9 market value today. I'd guess somewhere between 100k - 200k but hey that's just a wild guess. Couldn't even wrap my head around what a 10 would be on the market???

Yeah they had Batman on every Saturday at a certain time forever until they inexplicably changed it to way late then changed it again & again...ughh! Should of just left it alone in it's 7pm timeslot on Saturday.

oh yeah Im a big MeTV fan, and have been watching Collectors call. Just an awesome show. Little off topic but i watch them as well. Their daytime programming has taken a major nosedive however. It's mostly westerns now. They used to do Kojak, streets of San Francisco, Barnaby Jones, Cannon and alike. Sometimes even Hogan's heroes if I recall. Now it's just brutal with these dreadfully boring westerns! I mean "Wagon train"... really?...who watches that?! They're better with nighttime stuff but unwatchable before that

cbcs crossover

Crossover from cbcs. Same grade/PQ. Very disappointed in this one. Thought it had a good shot at upgrade. Turns out it has a teeny tiny amount of staple rust on one staple that I didn't even think was rust. Otherwise it looks sharper overall than majority of 9.8s I have. Oh well just goes to show you they hammer anything deemed as staple rust. It's reprint of ASM 67 BTW

Just curious do you guys think this rapid run up in value for this book is sustainable in mid to high mid grades? Specifically looking at 5.5 to 7.0? I mean the census on these is on the high side. I think there's been a consistent run up here almost across the board for several years now but wonder if this is sustainable? The importance of it shields it somewhat from a major downturn and don't think there's ever been one. Interested to get some takes on this from some more experienced collectors??? Thanks in advance for any feedback

Yeah man who could forget that first Kojak with young Harvey Keitel!! It was called "siege of terror". Good stuff! I never saw a bad Kojak episode and I love that intro ...Crockaaaa If there was one old TV star I wish they could of somehow worked into a Spidey issue it definitely was Kojak! Maybe with Kingpin or Jigsaw maybe Prowler? The artwork would been killer! I'd of been all over that!!!

I think I see this bridge in lots of movies🤔🤔‼️ I watch Kojak all the time & they filmed in lower Manhattan. They showed the Brooklyn bridge but I'm pretty sure they showed the Manhattan bridge too since it connects lower Manhattan to Brooklyn where they did a bunch of scenes. It would be difficult to avoid since they filmed outside all the time. Especially those car chase scenes. Love that show! Who loves ya baby!

If I'm not mistaken I think ~2017 or so they came out with the "new" version that looks similar to the current ones that are thicker with the updated labels but they didn't have the books in the mylar seal inside the slab & they also didn't have an inner well. I have a few of those. Out of these few one of them has small rings along the spine of the book on left side of the slab so I don't think they were ever ring free. I think they changed that version due to incidents of *shaken comic syndrome* were the cover separated from the pages. I don't know that it had anything to do with a Barex? Some of the latest ones don't have an inner well either but the books are in the inner mylar as oppoosed to when they made the original change few years back. That's my understanding. Perhaps someone else is better informed on the ins & outs here?

Yeah but the visual payoff is greater imo with a ring free new slab. The clarity is worth it. I'm willing to take the small risk at this point but I may have to rethink if this keeps up. I actually had a couple of old slabs with a blotch of Newton rings believe it or not! One is the ASM 70 I recently posted other is #83. They were minor but they were there

She's probably getting so bombarded at this point by unsatisfied customers from all this incompetence I wouldn't expect a response for awhile! I think she needs a team of people just dedicated to handling these emails

Recently sent in 9 for reholder. 2 of them came back with rings but one of those was only visible if I angled the slab a certain way otherwise I couldn't see the rings. I had to send back the other one (ASM 128) through Brittany which actually had less rings but the blotch it did have was right on spideys leg & was clearly visible looking straight at it without angling the slab. I mean I suppose I'm mostly satisfied with the outcome here but why can't they just redo the one I had to send back instead of returning it to me with a nasty blotch of rings on the front cover? It's obvious to anyone that looks at it! Why can't these damn bone heads figure this out? It's ridiculous! I have 5 more reholders in now & will report back. Also 8 separate ones that had previous Newtons thru Brittany that I'll report Get it together CGC!
