  1. Nice books. Why are the Germans always the bad guys tho?
  2. Thank you, It was a tough time watching her suffer, dealing with two different vets and selling off my precious books to try to keep up with the bills. You need a hug.
  3. I don't mind any dealer making a profit on a deal. Its how they make their living and they wouldn't have the selection of comics without the profit. My impression of Harley was a sharp guy who makes his living selling what he loves.
  4. Also sorry to hear about your cat. Pets have personalities just like us and they are just as important and loved as family or friends.
  5. It may just be me...but that copy looks to have the BEST color that I've ever seen on a FF 1.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u Yes, nice white paper, at least whats left. But in my book any FF#1 is a great book. Bet that baby was read a thousand times and loved every time.
  6. NICE!!!!!!! This was one of the first stories I ever read. That page with the monster sculpture in front of the theater...classic Kirby! I remember staring at that thing for hours as a kid thinking how cool that was! I used to carry around the old digest-size reprint. Your #3...are you freaking kidding me??? Beautiful copy...do you have a grade on it? Letusknow... Harley graded it as a Fine, its close to a fine but I don't like the paper quality, quite brown. It was an interesting deal. Harley came to a local Edmonton comic show about 15 years ago. Our shows are quite small with local dealers and a few from Calgary so Harley's selection of comics was mind blowing. I gotta think he had a pretty good show as his booth was busy all weekend. I had just got back into collecting and had never spent more than $50 on a comic. I wanted the FF#3 but Harley was asking $300 U.S. When I said I couldn't afford it he asked if I had anything to trade. I did have a Batman 17, great WW2 cover, that I figured was about a VF. Harley asked me to mail it to him. I did but he only graded it a F and asked for more comics. I packed up Wonder Comics 11,13, both in about F-VF condition and shipped them off. Shortly after I received the FF#3. I have always felt the Batman17 was higher grade than the FF3 but perhaps not a VF. I love FF and #3 was a grail at the time but I regret the deal I made. I really liked the Batman 17 and the Wonder Comics are worth a fair amount. Wish I had just dug out my credit card and bought that baby and kept my other comics.
  7. FF 55, great purple cover great issue. You gotta get it!!
  8. Very nice books fay. That 20 looks crisp, in a good way.
  9. Should I post my ASM 1 and 3 to tease you? One of these days, I'll have to see your collection. We should get together some day soon. What end of town are you in?
  10. My earliest ASM issue is number 4 Piper. Since so many guys get jealous every time a boardie posts one I think we have lots of company.
  11. 18 issues won't take long, almost there. Which issues do you need?
  12. That's a beautiful copy. Where did you pick it up? Congrats.
  13. Here is my #3 in decent shape. Got it in trade from Harley Yee.
  14. Boys, we need to get back to talking about Spider-man! Ah Piper, yer killing me. If I can't get the FF threat humping, next best thing is to steal this thread and talk FF. OK back to Spiderman. Has anyone dealt with RBF4699 on Ebay? He had a number of early high grade ASM that ended last night. I decided to take a chance on the #13 but it went too high. Its certainly a issue I would like to pick up.
  15. May the FF thread keep on humping! Just getting tired of humping alone. Hehe. After The VCC in two weeks and SD Comic-Con in July I should be able to keep it humping with you. There just aren't that many more FFs on my Want List and I'm low on cash so only searching for the real bargains. Just need 29,34,36,38,39 and 40 but not in a real hurry. Torch-- be careful humping with Cap: he's a minor! Don't worry, I will be really really careful.

  17. I try to keep the FF thread humping but Spidey seems to have more juice. Oh well, Spidey is OK
  18. I love the cover of ASM #100. Was lucky to stumble on a beautiful copy at my LCS last year for pretty cheap. Story is OK but not a classic. Been a long time since I read #135-137. Sold them off eons ago.
  19. I love issues 4,5,9,13,14 and 20 but none made my list. Perhaps a couple should have, just so many great issues to choose from.
  20. 25 years ago I purchased most of the Avengers from 20 to 60 in mid grade for about a buck a book off a friend. He gave up comics to become a witch. Not sure how that worked out for him but I love the comics . Can't imagine a convention of witches, comments like ' which witch are you' or 'which way did he go' would drive me batty.

  22. I'm still wondering how in the heck Cap through his shield like that. You wouldn't think Cap could get a lot of mustard using that frisby grip. I guess that's why he is a super hero and I toss wobblers at the beach. Pretty FF48. It also looks like used his web shooters to grab the shield. Web shooters? I like how you list an ETA on when you will finish your Avengers run. Which issues do you need?
