  9. A Paratroopers Prayer I'm asking You God, to give me what You have left.Give me those things which others never ask of You.I don't ask You for rest, or tranquility. Not that of the spirit, the body, or the mind.I don't ask You for wealth, or success, or even health. All those things are asked of You so much Lord, that you can't have any left to give.Give me instead Lord what You have left.Give me what others don't want.I want uncertainty and doubt.I want torment and battle. And I ask that You give them to me now and forever Lord,so I can be sure to always have them, because I won't always have the strength to ask again. But give me also the courage, the energy, and the spirit to face them.I ask You these things Lord, because I can't ask them of myself
  10. I offer neither pay, nor quarters, nor food; I offer only hunger, thirst, forced marches, battles and death. Let him who loves his country with his heart, and not merely with his lips, follow me.
  11. This story shall the good man teach his son;And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,From this day to the ending of the world,But we in it shall be remember'd;We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with meShall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,This day shall gentle his condition:And gentlemen in England now a-bedShall think themselves accursed they were not here,And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaksThat fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
  12. Duty, Honor, Country. Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be.” – Douglas MacArthur
  13. You might tell that to the folks who spent a fortune buying up Stans low grade file copies. Or Dave Cockrums, Or Don Rosa's. I've a half dozen SA Marvels marked for Office Use only and I'd ask a hefty premium on them if I were to sell.
  14. CGC. They may ruin your books but as long as they keep coming up with kool new emojis, the sheeple will be content.
  15. Customer Service 001. Eliminate the competition and you can eliminate your customer service.
  16. For many collectors, it adds value. Sadly, there are fake ones out there. Generally, file copies tend to be high grade.
  17. I'm thinking 1.8. I don't know much about restoration scales but this book would rate a purple label.
  18. Is it smarter to have the book buried with you rather than burned with you?
  19. Imagine if the Sistine Chapel was given a PLOD and it's value crashed 80%? I think when Steve B gets around to writing his autobiography, that putting restored books in a different color label will be his biggest regret.
  20. Am I the only one who thinks it is insane that you can artificially create a spine for a book and that is conservation, but if you trim off a hanging corner, it is restored. Even on the exact same book.
