  1. I called DD/Hammer a scumbag. If the shoe fits......
  2. Facts are just opinions that you've fallen in love with!
  3. You poor man. It seems like you are the victim here. Again.
  4. Hope all is well with you. I used to check the site on occasion, but it's been a long time. My interest in MJ and National inserts is pretty low these days.
  5. Selling fake autographs is one thing. Trimming books is another. Being a dead beat dad is simply inexcusable.
  6. Is there anyone here who doesnt know this is hammer?
  7. This could be solved if jjjj simply released the messages between Dupchek and himself.
  8. War is Hell was pretty gruesome as I remember it from many years ago. The first few issues are Atlas reprints but the later issues were pretty good.
  9. It gets him every time. Hopefully he chokes just a bit everytime one of his easter eggs goes unnoticed. It must have bothered him no end when people just didn't care.
  10. Hopefully you hae them insured. I had a box of Omni get squished on their way there and they were happy to give me a letter showing undamaged value and current value. PO paid me and most of the books went for okay money at auction.
  11. Contact Este if it is a consignment. If she doesn't know the answer, she'll get back to you. she's really good in that regard. I haven't had that come up so I can't offer any advice. Hopefully it works out.
  12. Did Kav mention PMing you? Not that I see. As I said, you best move is to slink away and return under yet another shill id in a few months. But we all know you won't do that. Your ego won't let you.
  13. Motion Picture Funnies was a huge deal when the first copies turned up in the mid-1970s. I know there were a few copies of #1, and I think someone had proofs of 2-4. I remember there was speculation that issues 2-4 exist because a comic that starts with issue #5 was considered to be the continuation of MPFs. I believe it was briefly the most expensive comic in the world.
  14. I haven't read any since the mid 1970s, but as I recall them, some of the Skywald B&W mags were pretty good. As in any anthology, you will have a bunch of subpar stories as well, but some were pretty damned good to the 14 year old boy who was reading them.
  15. A scumbag with knowledge is still a scumbag. He can throw on a layer or two of veneer, but at the heart of it, he is still just another scumbag, trying to get over on people who don't know any better.
  16. Most BA horror is simply reprints of Atlas 1950s stuff. After Kirby left, Marvel seems to have flooded the market with Kirby reprint material. I think they published more Kirby art in the two years after he left, than in the last four years he worked for them. I'm not sure I'd put Frankenstein, Dracula, The Man-wolf or Werewolf By Night in the horror genre. They were more like superheroes with a big flaw to me. I didn't like Brother Voodoo, but at least that seemed less superherorish to me.
  17. My Moms two sitsers went thru something very similar. They were diagnosed with calilcification of the brain, where your nerves turn to calcium and no longer work. The result is your brain recieves incomplete data and is forced to guess what the eyes are telling them. The eyes send the code that they are seeing a dog, but the missing nerve endings garble the message and what arrives to the brain doesn't make sense so it searches for the closest thing the code is sending- which might be ice cream, television or flying oak trees. It is truly horrible for the cargivers. It was even worse for my one Aunt as she must have realized she herself was beginning to suffer even as she was the main caregiver. Before the disease, the two of them lived on a cruise ship for almost two years, enjoying their well earned retirement. My Mom was beginning to show some signs, plus she was legally blind so she was double whammied. Seeing things that weren't there and not seeing things that were. Mercifully, her heart wore out before her brain. I'm sure she would have wanted it that way.
  18. As an investment, I'd skip these and just buy random Ditko issues. They are likly to double in value before any of those three BA books.
  19. Marvels Magazine line was more horror -centric. As I remember them, the Dracula mags were very different than the comics and I enjoyed the Zombie storyline but that was a long time ago and it may not have aged well.
  20. Never hit a man when he is down. It's much better to kick him.
  21. Marvel published Mary Shelly's original Frankenstein, with illustrations by a guy named Wrightson.
  22. I guess I'm in a rather small minority, but I really enjoyed Trouble. I'm amazed the powers that be ever let that series get published.
  23. I've used absorene in the past. It is good for removing surface dirt, but getting the residual absorene off the book is a pain in the . Honestly, my results with Wonder Bread were just as good, and its cheaper and easier. I bought that book and it was a waste of money.
