  1. If buying a GA key off you thirty plus years ago qualifies me as one of your better customers, that might explain the broken down palace on Little Neck Parkway you called home for many years.
  2. Whose only role here was exposing your competition. Good work if you can get it.
  3. Whenever I misplace a thirty year old book, the first place I go to look for one is on a known scammers site. Doesn't everyone?
  4. GI Jackrabbits 2 is extremely hard to find. The only thing possibly rarer would be someone interested in a copy.
  5. Sure, but this time he may have reformed. Right? It's sad because Hammer/DD/3J knows a lot and would be a valued addition to any board if he wasn't also a lying flim flaming POS.
  6. Nothing morose about it. Thinking ahead to ease your families grief and see that they get the most for your books is what good men do.
  7. It certainly isn't worth slabbing. I'm in the 5.5 range for the book but those stains might knock it down a grade.
  8. I bought the Marvel #1 long before I had any idea you were the piece of mess you truly were. At the time Fantazia or whatever the place was called had a pretty good rep. I bought a few other books from you, but again that was when I and the general comic community didn't know what you were. Funny you bring this up, as my post on the subject were long before JJJ joined. I almost bought a PLOD GL76 you were offering, but when I mentioned it here, people pointed out buying anything from you was still supporting a crook.
  9. Sounds about right. Time to slink off and work up a new id. See you soon!
  10. You seem to be complicating things Grab a book, give it a quick visual grade. Lets say it's an Revengers 54. You look at MCS buy/consign list. The listing says they accept books in 4.0 or higher. Is your book a 4.0 or higher? If so, you can send it in. It doesn't matter what you grade it, they will grade it and then you choose the price you want. If that is too time consuming for you, look on the same page to see what they are buying it for. It's generally well less than what you can sell it for on consignment but it is quick and payment will also be quick. Selling on consignment takes more time but is more profitable. MCS gets $7 minimum for selling a raw book so if your book only sells for $10, you clear $3. That is so people don't send in low value books and clog the system with their graders working on thousands of near worthless books. I was very disappointed in the time it took Comic Link to pay after the auction closed. MCS is usually very quick to pay, although lately that isn't the case.
  11. A criminal " mastermind" adopts an id as an expert witness and uses an unsuspecting group to help take down his competition. Where have I heard this story before.
  12. The best cover for a witch would be a witch hunter.
  13. They were a couple of hundred dollars when I started but just as out of reach. Looking back, I can't understand why I bought numerous collections in the $500- $5,000 range but never considered one of the Holiest of Holies.
  14. I'd rather know where I can buy a couple of copies of the books that don't exist. That's where the big money is.
  15. What are some examples of the most famous books known to have been printed but no copies are known to survive. Motion Picture Funnies 2 and 3?
  16. One can lead a newbie to the fountain of knowledge, but you can't make him drink. Please continue to use the card. It will be perfect for you.
  17. No, it doesn't. The card was misprinted. What is labeled as white was wrong, as is every other designation. It is worthless. Worth than worthless if you think it is accurate.
  18. My first mail order was from Hugh O'kennon. My parents were very leery of me getting ripped off by mail order dealers but agreed to let me order from him since he appeared to be a proper Irishman. Thankfully he came through as I doubt I would have been allowed a second shot.
  19. I'm in the same boat. I buy them and just put them into storage. I do have a three pack of GI Joe 2 in my comic rack but thats only because I have a couple dozen of them and if the bag rips, its not a big deal.I have roughly two long boxes full of multipacks, plus some DC and aftermarket ones that are too tall to fit in a regular comic box.
  20. I wish I could say I was surprised Gemstone is still selling this garbage twenty years after admitting they were misprinted and even Overstreet said they were not up to contemporary standards but I guess there are always unsuspecting newcomers that unknowingly will waste their money on things.
  21. To me, Roy Thomas advanced Stan's work at Marvel, but Starlin took it in a new direction. Marvel was earth-centric before Starlin introduced the Cosmic Space Opera to it. He rescued Captain Marvel and Warlock from obscurity, gave us Thanos, Drax, Shang Chi, and so many others. Was it a coincidence he was the featured creator in Star Reach 1, the first direct comic. That the first Epic comic was Starlins Dreadstar? Starlin not only advanced Marvel, and later DC's entire vison, he did it while being a pioneer for creators rights.
  22. I'm going to guess that you are unaware that those cards were printed wrong and recalled. They are utterly useless. They were a great idea but misprinted. Did you notice there is no cream color on your card?
  23. Possibly. Or does it separate people by experiance.?
  24. Perhaps, but why spend money improving something only to seal it in plastic? Putting it in a mylar would make a great display piece. It his book and his money. I just don't see the point.
