The most bullet-proof way is probably two pieces of oversized masonite taped around the edges. Or you can go with a cardboard sandwich and place that in an oversized box with padding. The box should take the hits. Be sure to put the art in a poly bag to keep the rain off.

Great show, great snacks, great conversations, and too much great, unbelievably rare GA art. If you are in the NY area, you should make the trip in to see these lots in advance of the auction. What a collection! Planet 1 does not disappoint in person.

I thought about this, but PayPal is really cracking down now and will hit you with a $2500 fine. IWT seems like the safer way to go and the buyer can pay any fees. I'm not worried about the cost of shipping or tracking. I am more concerned with filing a claim if there is an actual loss. Has anyone gone through this?

Would it be easier just to have prospective buyers bid on individual pages? Keep a running tally of the sum of the highest bids up until the day of the auction and place the bid with CL for that total price. List out the pages 1-20 and show the latest bids (but not the bidder) in the first post of a thread. Update as needed. There are some trust issues. Everyone participating would have to be a known quantity and not back out after the fact.

Apologies... very U.S.-centric thinking on my part. I am in the continental U.S. (I just noticed the new boards don't show my location. I know not everyone entered one on their profile, but it was sometimes helpful in this regard.) What are the fees typically like for an IWT? And are they buyer-side only?

What is the safest way to accept payment from an overseas buyer? Is PayPal a bad idea due to some kind of chargeback scam? Also, was there ever a consensus reached on safest shipping method overseas? FedEx won't cover art? USPS Intl Priority? (I have a Collector's Insurance policy, if that factors in.) Thanks for any insight. I am sure this has been covered, but policies change frequently.

Does anyone have any old, scruffy mag, large mag, slab, or other similarly-sized poly bags that you want to part with for free/cheap? I use them to bundle comics together for ebay packing. (As exemplified by my terrific ebay feedback!) Hook me up. Then go follow me as a seller.
