To be fair, his auction text says 'approximately 8.0'
He's not lying... it's an 8.0 on a scale of 0 to 100

I guess some sellers get confused easily or get brain farts once in a while. Sometimes those are the ones that are easy going and let their mistakes go. Just start a conversation and maybe get a laugh or two.
On the other end of the spectrum are bungholes that will milk you out of every cent.

Does no one take issue that web is coming out the back end?
The way real spider do it, I'd say it's arachnid-accurate.

Maybe if the seller bumped up the price to around $50 (or at least to completely cover all fees) there would be reduced doubt. Having said that (and this is my personal opinion), I still wouldn't buy any slabbed books from China/Hongkong from seller with no CGC proven sales record.

Would be cool if the 7 original Image founders had a multiple signing event. Oh well....

Here's a choice since you'll be getting a blue label anyway regardless -- Would you rather open the polybag yourself and see/judge the actual condition of your submission, or risk the (possible) disappointment that there was a hidden defect in the book you didn't see? CGC won't care with a COA, much less with a bag.

What book are you subbing?
I posted it on 'Ask CGC', will update if they respond. Very nice if it's legit. My question mostly is on why it doesn't consistently appear on all Campbell books. Also, it forces you to send in separate invoices if you don't want the new label on the other book.
CGC's reply:
"Thanks for your message. None of our retired labels are available for any of the signings. If any of those are coming up then that is a glitch in our form and I will have someone correct that."
Guess I'll need to adjust my submission accordingly. A bit disappointing but not a deal breaker.

Thanks everyone, keeping it as is

If you've seen some facebook groups (yeah, I troll there sometimes), mostly every post, pics unseen, is responded to with an automatic "don't forget to press".

Am I the only one who lists something and then takes it as a personal slight when it doesn't sell within minutes? What is wrong with people these days who cannot see a deal! Nine views?...nine spoons is more like it!
Give it the 80% discount treatment and you'll be fine

I have bad eyesight, but looks like the right edge has been "mildly" chewed up by a "really careful" gerbil.

Need some advice. Got this 9.6 multi-sig book, will pressing it possibly push it to a 9.8? Does it look like the spine tick break color? Also concerned on the Herb Trimpe sig, looks like it was scratched across, I can't tell if it just cut across on the ink or if it made it's way through the cover. If the former, does CGC ding an SS for a scratch on the sig ink?
Appreciate your input. Not an expert on getting pics, but let me know if any additional camera angle pic can help and I can add. BTW, no grader notes.
ROMITA book signings
in The Signature Room
Posted · Edited by bobotski
I have 2 books on queue with Desert Wind. I fully understand about Chandler's health issues and wish him well.
Anyhow, I was curious today and went to DWC's website and saw this message on the Romita signings: "Mr. Romita has decided not to sign in the near future." Chances are getting slimmer and slimmer, unfortunately.
Update: Another reason for checking the DWC website was because I got UPS shipment notification that I wasn't aware about. Sure enough I checked the UPS reference number and it matches my DWC order number. I sent slabbed books to DWC for the signing so wondering why it's coming from CGC? Very unlikely the signing went ahead, but most likely it was cracked opened by them then reslabbed back. Waiting from a response from DWC.
