  1. Ouch, that's tough. My personal grail that I've been trying to find for a long time, or a Supes #1. Well, I'll still have to go with the Supes #1. I don't neccessarily need a high grade Action #13, so I'd be happy finding a low grade copy at a much lower price someday. Too hard to pass on a Supes #1. good call, I would trade my personal grail (Action #48), in for a 4.5 blue label Supes #1 as well, but (sigh), I'd miss the #48 alot..
  2. One of the most high demand and rare in grade GA Classic Covers that ever walked the face of this planet I'll take the Supes #1 hands down. Suspense #3 is a nice book (maybe even great), but for the money we're talking about, "rare in high grade" is FAR down the list of reasons why I'd buy a book. Basically, the reasons I'd like a Supes #1 far outweigh the reasons I'd like a Suspense #3. what if it were the Superman #1 CGC 4.5 or an Action Comics #13 in CGC 8.0 blue label
  3. his airbrush covers were very cool, I tried using an airbrush once,... just once...
  4. Yeah, me too. I hate flame wars. Fugging stupid. I have had a change of heart too. Superman 1 for me. How could I pass up a historical treasure like that?
  5. Trust me, the thrill of owning a VF Suspense 3 would NEVER wear off. Not sure why you would think it would. Is it that hard to believe that someone would be more excited by the Suspense 3 than a Superman 1? Too much superhero bias around here. too much "cover is king" bias to me around here besides, you wouldn't have the Suspense 3 for long anyway, as you'd "flip it" a few weeks later.. Just because I don't collect like you doesn't mean it's any less worthy or that the "thrill will wear off". Typical "what I collect is great, what you collect is *spoon*" attitude. As for the flipping comment, keep your cheap shots to yourself. I am sick of getting *spoon* for selling books. You don't know anything about me or my collection, so STFU. I flip because I don't have the money to buy the things I want without doing it. Sorry if that offends your delicate sensibilities. ok, hold on, slow down..I wasn't attacking you, or the way you collect, but your the one who belittled my choice by posting this little icon guy , implying that I was crazy, because I'd rather have the Supes #1 over the Sus #3, you could have made your point without posting the little guy, and I wouldn't have said anymore... that's the only reason I posted it back,.. but under your own profile you admit, that you collect "anything you can sell or trade for a profit". as if to say the collecting part is secondary,,. that's your own words, not mine.. plus, I would never tell you or another board member to "STFU" ,.. so once again I apologize if you were offended by what I said, I was just giving a little tit for tat after you belittled my choice,.. olive branch The thing in my profile isn't serious....I didn't know people even read that stuff. Sorry to fly off the handle, I have just been getting a lot of *spoon* from people lately about how I sell to finance other purchases. I truly am sorry for what I said, it was meant in a kind of way instead of guess I need "icon posting 101" training.. and yes, I read everyones profiles,.. (does that make me a stalker ), I'm always interested in what people collect or need. on second thought, I'll take the Suspense #3 , I mean look at that cover
  6. who me, I've met Andy at WW Chicago, don't know if he remembers or not, he's a nice guy, and I didn't mean to start anything, I genuinely apologize.

  9. are you kidding me ?? OK, I know that the Suspense 3 has a cool Schomburg cover, but after that thrill wears off, then what do you have ?? yes the Supes #1 presented here has some foxing and some surface dirt, but it isn't the worst GA book I've seen, (you "pretty book" people are killing the hobby ) besides, If I picked the Suspense 3, I would be reminded everyday, that I passed on an Unrestored Superman # 1. Superman #1 for me please, all day (and night) long
  10. Shocking, isn't it? It's my 2nd raw book this month! The Flash #14 is really nice. I might even keep it. Haven't decided for sure yet. cool, glad to see you've gotten over your aversion to buying raw... just gotta be a little more careful....but you know that.
  11. for the few GA books I've submitted myself, I've found that CGC has been pretty much dead on, when designating PQ, I haven't cracked out any books that have been graded, so I can only speak for the raw books that I've checked out myself and then sent to CGC. perhaps they are more lenient on higher dollar books such as these.
  12. I would usually say the Action #1, but that's alot of tape on that spine, and the Tec, looks nicer, even with the missing chunk, so I'd take the 'Tec, and maybe sell it to get me an equally nice Action #1
  13. a huge kudos to Surfing Alien, for hooking me up with my all time favorite GA cover, and my personal grail.. details here. fair pricing, great communication, sent several large scans and photos,. and very fast delivery, I mean FAST !! just a great buying experience all around.
  14. I knew that moldy 2.5 Action would make it's appearance here in this thread sooner or later.. it's moldy, it's stained, major foxing, cover chunk missing, overgraded, and totally disgusting...but, I'd still have to take it over a 'Tec 38. Detective #31 and Action #61 (extremely vibrant copy)
  15. no worries man, this has been one of my favorite threads, your doing a great job... and I'll take the Sub-Mariner,.. what a great cover.. thedude.
  16. showcase, no offense, but, .Like Geneal Zod said,..."is there no one on this planet to even challenge me".. this is no contest,,.. I'll take the Tec' 27,,
