  1. I really enjoy reading about how to detect trimming. Seems like a little "black magic" is needed to know for sure. In this example, it looks like both the front and back covers are shorter than the rest of the book...and the staples are not loose. Isn't this a telltale sign that something has been altered with the cover?
  2. I have a Hulk 141 that has a piece of tape right in the middle of the back cover. It seems like a pretty old piece of tape so I am guessing any attempt at me removing it will pull off some of the paper. I was considering sending it in to get graded. It is probably a mid grade book, but was wondering If people think I should remove the tape or just leave it. Not sure how it would affect the grade either way. See the pictures below and let me know your thoughts.
  3. Yes, really been rising in value. Not sure why though. I think there's speculation about Werewolf by Night, which has also been rising in value. Could have been some Marvel announcement I'm forgetting.
  4. The fixing and moisture damage really hurt this book. I'm thinking closer to 5.0. Still a great book!
  5. Still two prizes left, right? Hope somebody picks them up. Some nice stuff left.
  6. That is a pretty big crease on the front just under the price. I will go with a 7.5, but a press might help reduce the severity of that crease.
  7. I'm surprised 33 lasted this long. Nice little set of books!
  8. My selection: Prize #38 5 copies of Moon Knight 1 Thanks, SpideyFein!!!
  9. Dang it! I was hoping the mystery box would last longer. 😭
  10. They should add in a stack of thick cardboard pieces to the picture. Might help educate some people.
  11. Maybe 8.0. Tough to tell because some of the pictures are pretty grainy.
  12. Maybe 8.0. Tough to tell because some of the pictures are pretty grainy.
  13. Hard for us to determine everything going on with a book, once it's in a slab. I know you said you already had it pressed, but the book looks like it is really wavy even in the slab. Am I seeing that correctly or is that just a glare playing tricks on me?
  14. Yes, wish we had more time on this one. I was going with 5.0, but I will admit that I'm not the best when it comes to guessing how CGC will let a stain impact the grade. I was thinking 6.0 without the stain and a 1 point detraction for the stain. Nice book. Congrats!
  15. I was one of the "8.0" suckers! I wasn't sure if those manufacturing creases would count against the grade. They were soooo bad, and on both covers. Is it true that CGC never counts any kind of manufacturing defect, unless you're in the 9.9 or 10 range?
  16. It was awesome. Looking forward to seeing the rankings! Congrats to Azkaban!
  17. There are 36 prizes listed on the first page. I think we might be up to 38 now with the last couple additions. Didnt realize there were so many last year. Very cool that so many people will be able to get something!
