  1. Did I say Anderson?? ...I meant Andru... thanks for the catch Jaylam!
  2. That 186 is a Anderson cover I believe? Right?
  3. And we are on page 156 already Flash Fans! There's Flash, secret identity revealed yet again on the front cover of 156 apparently But I feel we still have more to talk about as far as 155 goes, so lets keep it open for discussion on both books
  4. From what I see here I do think it has a shot at a 4.0 as long as the cover is still attached at the other staple. The only other thing that is holding it back is some of the green is worn away on the cover there on the word "Flash". Still a very nice copy of 123 there, well IMO any copy of 123 is a nice copy . Be sure to let us know when it comes back KJ! I've been hearing turn around times are pretty fast these days? Any other Flash fans out there to confirm this? I haven't submitted a book since December.
  5. I just ordered 5 more Flash books. Shopping online at MCS tonight, I could not help myself...i'm in the full grip of Flash collecting madness now.. Nothing major, just filling in some little holes here and there. One says its a Fantucchio pedigree book but it was a raw book so...how would that be verified?? It was only $8 so I took a chance on it. I've never owned a pedigree book before.
  6. You can tell they don't all feel the same about the event. The kid in the background looks like he's going to cry, while the older boy in the front seems to have a rather sadistic grin on his face. Probably kicked the dog when he got home, just for fun.
  7. Just imagine if you could have saved just one of those boxes, what you would find in there? Its all pre 1955 stuff in each one of those boxes! Now that would be an awesome mystery box! Crazy stuff! You know your'e in trouble as a civilization when you start burning the books!
  8. I'm fast approaching a new collectors situation here. The complete run is 245 issues. Right now my long box is jam packed with what must be over 205 issues. I'm about 40 issues short of completing the run and there are a few doubles in there. And not all of them have been transferred to Mylar and archival backing boards yet (witch takes up even more space). So, I want to keep them all together right, but there's just no more room for 40 more books. I'm thinking of building my own custom box. Any ideas or suggestions out there? There was a thread about storage somewhere on the boards, anyone remember the name?
  9. Ol Flash may have been doing a little too much binge watching and pizza delivery during the shutdown. That's a nice copy of 115 there! Thanks for joining the Flashy conversation! SpeedyD uses a crop from this issue for his avatar. We haven't seen him in a while here on the Flash Collectors Thread.
  10. The Gauntlet of Super Villains!!! Its time for #155 Flash Fans!
  11. I know, and after I went on and on about the master...lol. I agree its not right. Did Carmine really do this cover? Let me check...yep he's listed as pencils for this cover. My thought has been that this was kind of 2nd option story that they had to go with due to time constraints or something. Its a Gardner Fox story.
  12. Just thought I'd put these last 2 issues up side by side for a moment, to discuss. Very different cover styles, 153 looks like it could have been published in the 1970's where as 154 looks kinda like it could have been published in the late 1950's? Look at that car in 154? And the sort of very early whimsical design and concept. I always thought it was kinda odd. Thoughts?....
  13. Ah ha! Another Trekkie/Flash fan!!! I should have known! Love those original episodes!!!
  14. Cant wait to see it Terry! You never disappoint, its going to be amazing i'm sure!!!
  15. I would consider all 15-centers still Silver Age personally, but I know most say that is the beginning of the bronze age. Does anyone know where they draw the line officially these days?
  16. And this is the book that is responsible for starting it all over again. Back in 2012 I had just moved to San Antonio. It had been 12 years since I had sold my last collection, only a few books survived the big sell off, carefully tucked away in a short box in my closet- a distant memory. About a year or so later I decided to take my son to the local comic book shop as there were some spider-man action figures that he had to have. When we got there the toys were in the front of the store. In the back, far in the distance I could see the wall but could not quite make out what was on display. I resisted. As we checked out the friendly clerk asked, "So you guys like comics eh?" I replied, "Yes, I used to collect, but that was years ago." He replied, "Why don't you go back there and take a look?" "Naw, I better not." I replied. And then he said, "It's a fine hobby." To which I quickly said "It's a sickness really." We both laughed. Six months later I decided that I just might take up this fine hobby yet again. My son got this 154 for me for my birthday that year. And I've been falling down the rabbit hole ever since
  17. It would have to be Flash for me of course! Nothing against Bats but hey for a Flash fan its an easy choice.
  18. I love the way you had it framed it also!!! You are a very fortunate Flash Fan indeed!
  19. Love those future cityscapes! Just an awesome cover from the master, dynamic, motion, beautifully illustrated and great use of color. Probably in my top 5-10 all time Flash covers! (Notice how Flash's body is bending forward with the follow through of the punch but his head has stayed right where he made impact, tilted slightly back and away. As if he never took his eyes off the target. Only a master knows how to do that! One who has studied the figure in motion.) For the longest time I filed my birth certificate away in this comic. (Not inside the book itself, but safely, between the bag and the backing board of course ) There was no July 1965 issue so this was about the closest I could get to my birthday month and year. And through all my many moves as a young adult from place to place, city to city, state to state, I always knew where it was.
  20. !!!??? signed 117? for 95? I gotta check that out!
  21. The dreaded newton rings arrrgh! But it looks like his new case does not suffer from the newton ring issue.
  22. I think that's what just happened, he resubmitted it and just got it back yesterday. And look at that, we are on page 152 Flash Fans....I gotta go warm up the old scanner...I don't know about you guys, but this thread has been quite the respite for me during the crisis. Chatting with you fellow Flash fans has really helped me make it through the long hours at work, stress and worry...I just wanted to say thanks! Again with the primary colors, beautiful design, great angle by the master Infantino, very funny subject matter! How can the Trickster outrun the Flash on a tricycle!!?? (Made you buy the comic to find out)
  23. Just checking it out again KJ, its so awesome! I'm jealous! I still need one of these...some day...
