  1. How many Flash fans joined the March Madness grading contest?
  2. My 116 has character, shall we say? Love that cover with the little city in the suit case. Always loved the SiFi stuff John Broome put in his stories.
  3. Looks like 20 posts to a page if page 111 and page 112 are any indicator. We are on post 10 only half way through the page and stalled out.
  4. How many posts to a page? Does anyone know?
  5. My 115 finally came in! So I'm ready for page 115. Last call for 113's. If there's no more maybe we could press on to #114?
  6. The reason to have one for me anyway, has always been the introduction of Golden Age Flash into the Silver Age. They could have written him in anyway they wanted to... he could have jumped out of soup can for all I cared. I'm just glad he got put back into the stories. I'm a collector of Golden Age Flash too so being able to read all those GA stories reprinted in the SA was great for me. I liked the way they wrote the 2 characters together when they teamed up. In the years before the internet, I don't think I even knew when he came in. I had many SA issues in my first Flash collection but not that one. I guess I just assumed Jay had always been part of the SA. I did not even come across a 123 until 90's. The minute I saw it of course I had to have it! Of course there are lots of lame stories in comics, especially when you compare them to some of the great writing going on today. I take these old stories for what they were and are. John Broome will always be special for me because he wrote all those old Flash classics. Simple, short, with children in mind, still somehow he always tried to put a little something of his adult writing into them, science fiction/mystery, a little flavor which I really enjoyed. So hey, there's a Earth 2 which vibrates at a different frequency, sure let's go there and see what its all about, count me in!
  7. Vintage Showcase! Nice 'aqua'-sitions there!
  8. Finally page 113! I'll post my #113 again to start us off right...
  9. My run update... with my 123, a #115 on the way and rechecking the old list, I am down to just 72 issues to complete the 105-350 run. Here's a scan of page one of the 'old list', its been in my back pocket for 4 conventions and countless trips to comic shops in at least 4 different cities over the last 5 years. Finding it hard to believe I was finally able to check that 123 box!
  10. LoL! My 3rd rate, "well loved, gently used" collection. Really, at today's prices I am very grateful to even have a copy at all of these Flash 10 centers!
  11. Here's my #113 for page 113 which should be starting soon...?
  12. At last I have a 123 Bill!!! A well loved copy, but it fits right into my collection.
  13. This just in!!! I finally have a 123 again!!! My key purchase for 2019!!!
  14. Trying to pick out a good prize to donate. Will there be a separate thread for these?
  15. That's awesome!!! Love that sketch too. You are a Fortunate Flash Fan indeed! 235 is one of the few issues I have doubles of. I bought it when it first came out.
  16. Jc's right on this one... When we grade a book like this we have to balance out every thing. Its very hard to say how the CGC would grade it. But let's say its a 9.2 without the defect. Detached at one staple appears in the grading guide at 3 or 3.5 I believe. We would have to grade somewhere in the middle. My best guess would be in the high end of that middle -- maybe 6.0? Great grading question!!! Any one else want to take a crack at it? To me it looks like only the front part of the cover is detached the back is still attached so this would not be "completely detached at one staple" I would think it could qualify for a higher grade hence my original 8.0 maybe 7.0.
  17. I'd say its in the 5.5 - 6.0 range. Nice book!!! Is that an Adams cover?
  18. Can the owner verify if it is indeed detached? Because JC is right it will make a big difference. I'm kinda assuming its hanging on there. Its in such outstanding shape otherwise.
  19. It looks like the cover is partially detached at that staple. I would say it would pull the grade down at least 1 full point. I would grade it at 8.0. But I would be interested to see what others would grade it.
