  1. Newest addition to the Harry Anderson family- don't see it too often, in fact I don't think I was even aware of it before I saw it in the heritage auction. The photo journal, where I get most of my artist info, doesn't list Anderson, so its nice to stumble upon something new.
  2. yeah wow, I have never seen this for sale. very cool.
  3. yes, skulls aplenty, but sorry, not an official skull cover.
  4. Please note that this is an official Skull cover. Anyone know what CGC's criteria are to designate a book as officially being a "Skull cover".
  5. could you post a cu of that bottom left corner? Thanks.
  6. Finally got one of these. Love this seller's packing style: Priority mail box (sealed with packing tape), large plastic bag (taped), bubble wrap (taped), bubble padded envelope (sealed), two pieces of cardboard (taped all around), top loader (!), board and bag and finally... the book!. Nice! Contrast that with how the #6 arrived a few months back...
  7. Great topic. For me golden age comics are like magical objects. They have their own spirit, relics of another world, etc. Signatures totally break that spell for me. Although I have favorite artists that I collect and have big passion for, their signature means nothing to me. And I enjoy seeing the writing done by people who owned/grew up with the books, for me that adds to the magic and spirit, but having someone 30 or 40 years later, scrawl their name across the cover with a sharpie, that doesn't not add value, it diminishes it.
  8. Did you guys see all those ACG signature series books that came through Heritage over the past month or so, that had Ken Bald's signature in either black sharpie like bright metallic silver going across the covers? It was dozens of books from all his genres. The signature thing never made sense to me, especially GA books, it's almost like they should be graded down for having a signature. Like this is a very pretty low grade copy of a book that I would have bid on if it didn't have the signature. Its sort of a YLOD for me...
  9. ha ha, yeah, I actually put in pretty aggressive bids on several books then shut off the computer till it was over. Got a few, but not the one I was really hoping for which was that Eerie 14.
  10. I'm not a silver age collector, but that cover is super cool!
  11. According to my personal grading criteria for this particular book, which focuses on the intensity of redness in the eyes and richness of the yellow in the teeth, this my friend easily grades at a 9.2, but I'm giving it a .6 bump for the beautiful blue eyes, which I've never noticed before. So a solid 9.8. Excellent find and a true pleasure to admire.
  12. Rub it in why don't ya! I missed out on a high grade copy not too long ago, put in pretty high bid, then missed the live bidding. I was planning on going all the way. Oh well, something to look forward to. Great cover, and you got a nice colorfull copy- congrats!
