The tape looks much better in hand- ha ha!

Possibly my favorite GGA. Took a while to find a clean affordable copy. Besides the gorgeous leggy women, I used to be a lifeguard so it has some special appeal, and love how the woman in back looks like a giantess compared to that sailboat. It's also weird cause the water looks about 3 - 6 inches deep.

Yup that's really a sheet ghost for Halloween. I was down with it because Charlie Brown did it. After that it was monster masks bought with lawn mowing money (and my neighbor's shoulder pads), the witch is my sister. Hey I collect horror so its thread-relevant... right?

Ok, maybe a stank old cigar butt for this one... I just thought the boot was too funny. I'm sure there exists some kind of foot fetish faction that would appreciate this. I haven't read the book yet, but what if he starts licking it before being kicked off the ledge?

Love this book- the cherry is the guy with the gun next to the H.

You may have elevated this particular book, and it's value, to cult status. The legendary Wolverine cut out issue. It would be a pretty fun one to own, I'd reslab it folded open so the missing Wolverine is in front. But for maximum impact, CGC would have to reslab with the original grading label, which they may not be willing to do...

It takes years of managed effort and attention to create such an even patina of use.

Yeah that's a good one- they should have put two direction points on the dialogue balloon, one pointing to each half of the head.

I was talking to an acquaintance about collecting PCH, how it was a phenomenon that really lasted about 4 or 5 years because the books were banned for being to scary and violent for kids. He asked me what were the scariest covers. This book was the first that came to mind. For some reason this cover has always struck me as being particularly disturbing- a young couple trapped in a basement, in an open grave dug into the floor, neck deep in coal, holding hands, watching in terror as a sadistic undead ghoul is about to set them on fire.. I just can't imagine seeing this as like a 7 or 8 year old kid on some news rack (although it would be worse if the scene was depicted about 30 seconds later...). I told him I would send him a picture- but when I got home I realized I had sold my copy years ago. So I immediately bought the best copy I could find. Pretty happy with it- complete, clean cover, vivd colors, and just enough degradation to enhance the vibe, like a light bit of frosting on a delicious cake.
