  1. Here's and idea. Why not cut Bosco685 some slack? From where I sit the guy is practically working here for free, keeping numerous threads updated for our collective viewing pleasure. And Bosco685 isn't the 1st, and certainly won't be the last, to get crosswise with Gower. Right? So how bad a sin can it be, really?
  2. and if the reviews keep piling in about how terrible it is... +1 Who makes 100 min. big budget movies anymore? Not worth the cost of trainfare/babysitting/snacks/admission as someone else mentioned prior. I take my statement back about giving this movie a shot. At 106 minutes it's exactly the same run time as the 2005 Fantastic Four.
  3. Different hollywood-press sources dishing up "just barely", "not an embarrassment" and "feels like an also-ran" starts to paint a 'shared' experience. But then again if FF teases through a bag of popcorn and has a flash-bang upbeat ending, who knows.
  4. I'm wondering about "The Martian". Bestselling novel (check), Ridley Scott (check) and a butt load of stars (check). Triple crown potential, depending on initial reviews.
  5. I can't watch the Preview without thinking about Stargirl's commentary on Supergirl from JLU. "she's always blah blah blah my cousin, blah blah my cousin." Which makes me hope the Supergirl show brings in some well done hero-rivalry. Stargirl, Powergirl, whoever.
  6. You'd think if Justice League Dark is greenlit to shoot in November, Warner Bros would keep an army of quality directors on speed dial. The film's core 'vision' would be baked into the screenplay, wouldn't it? Just bring in somebody known to deliver the goods. Get on with it. Besides, del Toro is going to be busy with Hellboy III after PR2.
  7. Nah, they can't kill . He's the best hero in the DCU. By the look of this leaked photo from the set... "Twenty years in Gotham. How many good guys are left? How many stayed that way?" - Bruce Wayne
  8. I hope you're right. And yeah, it's going to be EPIC do-not-miss. (thumbs u The trailer also shows two voices of clarity and reason: Sup's Mom and Alfred. That's all he needs.
  9. I agree (speculating) that Luthor is behind the Supertroopers. And (more speculating) Luthor's using that Senator to do it. That's how my mind flashed when the Trailer opened. (really speculating now...) There's Holly Hunter (Southern lady, Col Sanders ice cream suit, probably an ultra-conservative evagelical law & order Senator bought and paid for by evil corporate profiteering special interests, ie; Luthor) holding a hearing to get to the 'truth'. Then we see Superman descending for the Senate hearing. Lots of those disgusting 'Westboro'-style placards in the crowd to represent her constituency. And we get the nazi-esque supertroopers. All these little subliminal connections are being served up as the Trailer unfolds. All in relation to Superman. The worst humanity has to offer and Superman, essentially being one and the same.
  10. Who the hell are those goofy Supertroopers? Every single one of those scenes makes me uneasy. They give a sense, along with that Senator, that the're going to associate Superman with the worst humanity has to offer. One glance at their helmets and uniform patches and it's obvious they're not being subtle about it. And you have to assume since Clark was raised on Earth he's well aware of world history. So where they're going with it, who the hell knows. And it might just be me. I have zero trust in how they'll handle Superman. I'm convinced Warner Bros and Hollywood hates Superman, his origin and everything he's symbolized. He's their flagship character but they seem absolutely clueless as to why that is.
  11. So many things wrong with this comment. No wonder we get a bad wrap. Miss Manner points for not referencing chrome, trailer hitches, golf balls or garden hoses?
  12. That IMDb link shows Margot Robbie being in Tarzan (July 2016) right before Suicide Squad (August), along with Samuel L. Jackson. Busy lady.
  13. I agree with all that. Competition is good and I'm a DC Fan. Here's hoping. I really liked the Task Force X episode of Justice League Unlimited. It was clever, a caper tale with a fresh behind-the-scenes perspective of the daily Watchtower goings on. Sneak in. Justice League Headquarters. In Space. But I need to go back and re-watch Batman: Assault on Arkham. I didn't care for it at all. I felt hoodwinked, bait & switch, because Batman was hardly in it. That, and the change of Harley from 'Mad Love' to Town Pump seemed like straight up low-fruit exploitation. The Suicide Squad movie has that same vibe so far. Batman's barely in it. Joker, maybe a bit more. But so far it comes across as criminals on a mission. So unless their mission is to pilot their ship into the Sun to save us all (2 birds, 1 stone), it's really hard to care about their sorry butts. Know what I mean? You don't want to sit there for 2 hours constantly thinking "is anybody going to step up and take these jerks down?" With no hero in sight. They are the heroes in some twisted up context.
  14. Yeah, somebody posted earlier he's a year older than Affleck. It's probably just a combo of the makeup, haircolor, tats, lipstick and especially that Home Alone pose they opened with. Combined they visually added up to 'young' (immature). Maybe in post-production they'll desaturate the colors and Leto's acting will establish that Joker is seasoned instead of silly. A supervillian instead of some middle age Scene Kid who chased the party too long.
  15. Appreciate all the insights. (thumbs u To be fair, it's ridiculously early for this film. It doesn't release until after BvS, about a year from now, so who knows. Maybe by opening-day we'll all care. So, about the Jared Leto Joker. Confusion, right now. He is very prominent in the Trailer, arguably the most prominent thing. BUT... The onset pics (Joker as a Miami Vice villain hassling Dr. Quinzel outside a club, the cartop Batman scenes) and the Trailer scenes make it all look like it's a Harley origin flashback sequence. Maybe that's wrong and Jared Leto does carry the movie. But if Harley's going in Task Force X she's already had her psyche mindraped, she acted out somehow, got busted and is currently in the hoosegow (the cage scene). AND... if Superman is the one who brings Bats out of retirement (who's already been at it 20 years) where does Joker fit in? Leto looks way, way too young to have been at it for 20 years too. (edit: he looks to have 20 years worth of tats though, so who knows)
  16. +1 The BvS trailer was jawdropping, giving a minor sense of just how epic it's going to be. Suicide Squad just isn't connecting. No clue what their mission is ("go save the world " is too generic to give a care). No clue who to root for? (not a big fan of glorifying evil). And no clue why I should pay money and park my butt in a seat. It would be great if those who are excited by the Trailer would specify why they are. Right now it's coming across as a muddy Expendables 7, sort of, without the story or the stars.
  17. Her uniform is so close to 'Classic', wondering why they left out the S-shield background color field? I just prefer that old iconic look and it visually feels like they forgot something. But, then again, I'm not their target audience.
  18. Yeah, no doubt. They are also artists getting to work unfettered by licencors, which is rare in this hobby. With companies like Disney to contend with, you're getting business people imposing on artists, and you're never going to get the best stuff under those circumstances. If space wasn't an issue and I didn't have to limit myself, I would be buying a few of these for sure. They're stunning. +1 I was going to say the same thing myself: you can really see the artists flying their freak flag without any licensing interference. Man, that Court of the Dead premise is very well done imho. Here's a click-to-read 26 page SDCC comic book pdf: CLICK TO READ It made me think of the underworld in the Sword of Truth series novels with The Keeper ruling a realm and all that. Only in this it's a mid-realm that's been feeding the eternal war between Heaven and Hell and they're rebelling to take charge.Anyway, the quality is certainly there. I'd keep an eye on this franchise.
  19. Thanks for all the info guys. (thumbs u When going through all the mwctoys.com photos those stopped me in my tracks. Necro-fantasies aren't my thing (at all), but from an artistic/technical perspective they're insane. The level of detail, textures, color palettes, poses, hell, everything. You can tell they went the extra-mile across the board on those things. Stunning work.
  20. What is that necro-fantasy line of statues? Are they from some film or just original designs, or...? There seems to be quite a few figures in the line and I couldn't tell much from their placards.
  21. what the heck is that supposed to be ? It's the Mr Myxlplyxmobile. Duh. w/ Bat Mite riding shotgun.
  22. The announcer actually begins with "Imagine a world..."
  23. Good luck with Doctor Strange. I really tried to like it, wanted to, twice, and... yeah. It just came across as some bizarre anime fever-dream I couldn't connect with. Since this is moves and series I'll put in a good word for Wolverine and the X-Men animated series. If you can binge-watch multiple episodes a strong underlying continuity/plot emerges, a singular story-arc beginning to end. It was good. (thumbs u
  24. Is there a specific "Tell" for the Playboy 1 cover and a 2007 Replica reprint? Just curious.
