  1. I purchased a slabbed Golden age book from Sharon. The slabbed book was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition, and she took care of a shipping error quickly. She also included some very cool freebies! Great communication and a pleasure to deal with. Recommended
  2. I purchased 3 bronze age books from David. I received them quickly and well packaged. Thank you for the great deal on some nice books! Recommended!
  3. defects: moderate wear on top edge, rusty top staple with minor rust migration, multiple color breaking spine creases, multiple color breaking creases on cover with moderate cover wear, back cover vertical mark/stain (if that's a tear then will knock down grade by another 0.5), back cover mild tanning/ foxing. 4.5
  4. unduly harsh grading. That's an 8.5 structurally, but the eraser mark should drop it down to an 8.0. It's possible they classified the eraser mark as soiling or staining, for which CGC is known to be harsh.
  5. The #1 is a tough one to grade due to the stain on the bottom back cover. defects: stain, small spine crease back cover, very minor staple stress, looks like a very faint non-color breaking diagonal crease top back cover ( i think that's the crease you mentioned?). It initially appears as a 9.0 - 9.2, but the back cover stain technically puts you no higher than an Overstreet 6.5. I'm going to guess a CGC 8.0 (no strong evidence or examples to back this up). Interested to hear opinion of other boardies.
  6. defects: small piece out of upper spine corner, color breaking creases along almost entire spine, wear on all edges with color breaks, staple tear back cover. The small missing piece out of the top spine corner technically puts you no higher than an Overstreet 4.5, but it presents well overall so i'm going with a : CGC 5.0
  7. interesting question. A 1.0 can have up to 1/4 of the front cover missing OR an entire back cover missing, so i think a missing interior piece would not be this severe. A 1.5 can have 1/10 of the back cover missing, which is probably more comparable to the defect here. Alternative, you could get a qualified grade. 1.5 CGC universal / blue label OR 2.5 CGC qualified / green label
  8. defects: long stain through entire spine edge of book (front cover to back cover), multiple color breaking creases, moderate wear on all edges and covers solid 2.0 with a shot at 2.5
  9. Looking at the front and back covers alone, with wear on edges and some small color breaking creases, I was at a 6.0. After seeing the spine, rough but not split, I would say: 5.0 and a possible shot at 5.5 (CGC). Keep in mind that most GA CGC 4.5's have an actual significant PIECE missing out of the cover (see example). This beauty has no such defect.
  10. initially I was going to call it color breaking spine wear. After checking comparables on eBay, I found several examples of 9.4s with similar spines. Your bottom corners look a little rounded with color wear so that may detract, although I admit I don't often grade modern books. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gotham-City-Sirens-1-CBCS-9-4-Harley-Quinn-Catwoman-Ivy-DC-Paul-Dini-not-CGC/263924176130?hash=item3d731b5502:g:EP8AAOSw6zNbkzuG
  11. solid VF 8.0 assuming no surprises on the unseen corners, mild rounding of corners acceptable
  12. The 2 spine corners are slightly rounded. That alone keeps this books out of 9.6 and 9.8 territory. Additionally, it looks like there's some very light staining or foxing on the upper back cover and by the upper staple. i'm at 9.4 at best
  13. The chunk out of the cover looks about 1.5" x 0.5". Overstreet grading for GD 2.0 allows for the largest piece missing from the front or back cover to be a 1/2" triangle or a 1/4" square. We know that CGC does not always agree with Overstreet on this criteria, but I think in this case there is not much wiggle room for such a large defect. Large area of color loss on the red background. Soiling on the back cover is moderate. 1.0 - 1.5
  14. mild soiling of the white spine edge, above the marvel logo and in upper right corner, rounded corners and minute color loss on the black back cover 8.5 - 9.0 as is a clean MAY get the soiling off, but white covers are tough and soiling looks dark. A press MAY sharpen the corners depending on if the paper fiber is compressed into the corner (bumped corner), or if there was actual fiber loss (corner got scraped on rough surface and fiber was removed). that's a lot of if's to get to a 9.2
  15. beautiful book. 9.4 at least. Looks like a possible very light dust shadow on the back cover upper left corner. I agree with the bindery defects on the corners, they should not detract from the grade.
  16. Hi delko, You'll need to post a scan of the entire front and back covers at a minimum to receive any meaningful feedback. If you're asking to split hairs between 9.2 and 9.4 you should also include high-res pics of all 4 front and back corners. From what you've posted, I see 3 small color breaking creases and a slightly worn bottom corner. If there are more similar defects anywhere else on the book, you're likely looking at a 9.2, but again those pics are not much to go on alone. Good luck!
  17. Purchased a slabbed Spidey key from Randall. It arrived quickly and very well packed without a scratch. Thank you!
