In all the years I've been on the boards, there's been a vocal minority-but-not-tiny group complaining that Schomburg's covers look 'too busy', 'too cluttered', 'his Marvel Mystery covers look all the same', etc etc.
I agree. But until now I've never been "vocal" about it. I've just done my best to ignore his stuff.

Yes, I'm a big fan of good girl art. But why would a superheroine from the 1940's look like her mammary glands are bolt-ons she got at the plastic surgeon's office?
I mean what's with that? Nobody had even envisioned the possibility of implants back then.

It is truly sad how Schomburg copied himself over and over and over again...
Sad indeed. That cover was just blah the first time.

I don't like the whole concept of superheroes going to war. As a result I'm no fan of the vast majority of the covers that Alex Schomburg did for Timely.
Neither do I like the grisly horror comics that became popular after WWII ended. Yes, I like many of the EC artists - but not the subject matter.

More Carl Barks!

To me the price I paid for a book is irrelevant if my proceeds from a book ends up being 2/3 of what it could have been.
Well don't come asking for sympathy here. The operative expression here is "crying crocodile tears". Or "crying all the way to the bank".

Unpopular Golden Age Opinions Thread!

I'm not talking about the size. I'm talking about the unnatural "fake" shape. Real titties don't just jut outward. They drop due to the effect of gravity thus concentrating breast tissue at the bottom. And that therefore is the way they should be drawn.
