  1. I'm looking forward to receiving them - thnx valiant! I hope and pray that you'll generously post some interiors from those Italian Centaurs, Steve! I have a real obsession with early GA foreign comics.
  2. The stamp could have been placed second hand. Like all the Bonnett's & Jordan's books. Very true, good point.
  3. So, did anyone from the boards land the AMAZING MYSTERY FUNNIES #4 (famous gun to the crotch cover) on Heritage last night ? Its been on my want list for years, but there was no way I could go that high on the book. Looks like my chances of completing my AMF run just got a little tougher! I find it interesting the book came from Canada (as the store stamp indicates), when Centaurs were supposedly very badly distributed... I'm surprised this early Centaur made it across the border! (Or maybe Canada is considered bad distribution?)
  4. They probably haven't taken Down yet John, the ebay seller in the link, and I co-own a bunch of books we located in a collection a few months back. So, at the show a collector with the SS 7 approached John about trading for one of the books he and I co-own. Since I was at the show, we were able to make the trade for the SS 7. I've contemplated buying John out of his share of the book and keeping it, but he wanted to test the waters with it first. So, there you have it. Thanks Bill... my curiosity got the better of me. Thats a helluva book!
  5. While I didn't make it to SDCC this year, I did manage to win a long-time grail book last week... TARGET COMICS #8 (D I C K Winters copy, Sparkle City auction). This book is super-elusive, no doubt due in part to its cool grey-tone cover and candy like colors. The book is also loaded with a great Funnies Inc. -type line up: Burgos (White Streak): Wolverton (Spacehawk): Mills (Fantastic Feature Films): and Everett, in fine form (Chameleon): Feels good to get this one in the collection... Been looking for this book for a LONG time now... ever since the Gerber guide came out. Looks good next to my TARGET 7 Larson... Thanks for all the boardies who wished me luck on securing this book! (thumbs u
  6. They probably haven't taken Down yet The main reason I asked is because the book was newly listed on ebay. Just curious.
  7. um, is it me or is this your SS 7 posted above, Bill? http://www.ebay.com/itm/DAREDEVIL-7-BATTLES-CLAW-1941-Hi-GRADE-R-FREE-SHIPPING-/120951462162?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item1c2944d912#ht_1332wt_1114
  8. Damn, thats nice, Bill! Sweet book. Let me know if you ever tire of it.
  9. 9 and 22 Three tough books. I'll keep an eye open.
  10. Which ones do you need George? I'll keep my eyes open.
  11. You got a real bargain on that AMAN!!! Great pick ups.
  12. I couldn't see this FP/Arrow run in this thread die quite yet... I'm skipping ahead to the first Mad Ming cover, the only one I own at present. GREAT cover on this issue. Great hooded cult Arrow story as well...
  13. This one is fantastic! The colorist did an amazing job. Don't own any CATMAN's myself, but now I'm curious about what I've been missing...
  14. We could have a whole thread just on Wolverton panels. Nice choice.
  15. Man, now I really want a 3/8 to fill out my mini run! Nice copy Steve. Here's my 3/9 and 3/10... the 3/9 is the Cosmic Aeroplane copy, won in a Comic Heaven auction years ago. Tarpe Mills' only GA cover to my knowledge, which is a shame. Can you imagine other covers by her? Also included is the scan of inside back cover... a great A-Man ad by Everett! The 3/10 I intend to get pressed out, the pq is fantastic... its just a LITTLE wonky. But happy to have a copy... Burgos' only early GA cover to my knowledge. I think we can guess why.
  16. Why choose? They are all classic! But the one above really stands out to me!
  17. My favorite one-shot story from Ms. Mills... great panels.
  18. Nice! If you ever upgrade, Win, you know where to find me...
  19. Almost 20 years before Creature from the Black Lagoon! A great GA story from "Daredevil Barry Finn", Tarpe Mills, AMF 2/6:
  20. I have seen this MH book in person, and I have to tell you, what makes it pop are the large unobstructed areas of perfect blue background. Its just a killer book. I sold my copy a while back... what the hell was I thinking!
  21. ...I sold both copies I had...first one I believe I got from sacentaur, one I found a chicago...both were nice lower grades, but wish I had of kept one I wish I had kept one of yours too!
  22. Blasphemy!! I didn't know it was OK to admit such ... Probably not OK to admit such things... I would own them all in a second if I could, but budget restrictions (and scarcity) forced me to choose the hero/sci fi covers.
  23. Here's my FP 3/7, my earliest FP. Acquired from our very own Sacentaur...
  24. GREAT Frazetta panel WP! Its amazing to see the line work blown up, so you can really appreciate it. Spectacular piece. Random CLAW panel, I think its from Silver Streak #7...
