  1. Nice! The piece captures that golden age charm...
  2. Super nice pick up. I was watching it on ebay, and thought it was a really reasonable price. Always like to see this book pop up on the boards, I am a little obsessed with it...
  3. Thanks fellow geeks! One way to cure your desire for a book is to spend weeks painting it… then you never want to see it again!
  4. Now that the owner has this in hand, I can post it. oversized commission of FANTASTIC #3… definitely the most challenging of the covers I've done to date.
  5. That wouldn't be one of the Saucys... it's not ringing a bell (lots of gorilla covers with girls, one I can think of with a rifle, but none with both..unless I'm just drawing a blank). SAUCY DETECTIVE!
  6. Awesome cover and condition!! I've never seen that cover before. I am still looking for the issue that has the gorilla carrying a gun in one hand and a woman in the other… if you have one let me know.
  7. Nope, its on a cradled wood panel… a thin wood surface with the sides built up. Canvas has too much texture for me, can't get the fine details.
  8. Like Schomburg, I have a real appreciation for how Fine structured his work… very little is fudged in, he really took his time and paid attention to details. This is often a rare attribute in GA covers/art.
  9. Thanks West… hope its the CATMAN!
  10. I've been busy with a group of five oversized GA commissions for a single private collector, four of them Lou Fine covers (I had never done a Fine cover up to this point). Here's the first two, will post the other three soon… Mystery Men #2: and HIT #5: All five have full wrap around edges…
  11. Posting a nice TARGET v1/#10 in the marketplace, and some GA hardcover reprints… http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7428570#Post7428570 Plus some items listed in the advertising area that include comics, pulps and two pieces of original sci fi pulp art: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7428636#Post7428636
  12. This looks good in black and white as well as color!
  13. Not sure if its cool to link directly to ebay from here, but here's my post on the sales market section of the boards with the ebay link… http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7186953#Post7186953 Have a look, there's good material I'll be listing! All solid and complete.
  14. Glad they arrived safely, and are obviously being appreciated. Selling a bunch more pulps (Amazing, Wonder, etc.) auction-style on ebay right now, but holding off on selling my favourites for the time being. I bought about 16 Gernsback bedsheets in the late '90's that were part of a local OO collection… looks like they were stored in a deepfreeze, they are so fresh.
  15. Two killer books, which happen to be two of my four favourite Centaur covers of all time!
  16. Listing some really nice looking Gernsback pulps with Paul covers/artwork, and one original Frank R. Paul pen and ink drawing from 1940. Several up now, more to follow! http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7163137&fpart=1
  17. Congrats Michael! What a super-sweet copy. That Larson ain't too shabby neither...
  18. ...Y'know, being a Canadian comic geek and all that...
  19. Great books Stephen! I've said this before, but let me know if you ever sell your undercopies, I'd love to get some of the Dingle covers/Nelvana books in my collection!
  20. Oops, jumped the gun! Thanks for the kind words all. I am working on a series of five large format covers for a private collector, which I will definitely post upon completion. There's a Fantastic 3 in the mix...
