  1. Nice one Stephen! That Captain Combat was sort of a one-trick pony, wasn't he?
  2. John Newton Howitt It is rumoured that one day he set fire to all of his pulp cover paintings bonfire-style, as he was ashamed of that phase of his career. True or not, not many of his originals survived to present day.
  3. For instance, this'n originated as a pulp cover swipe (from The Spider, I think). Then it was swiped again by Syd Shores for the second series of Mystic (Angel cover)... Here's the SPIDER cover (June 1939) you refer to... found it on eBay earlier this year. Its not easy to find in any grade!
  4. That is quite an attention grabber. Thanks, it's a definite upgrade to my other copy. I also just realized as I am looking at the picture that the date stamp is my Birthday(month and day). Double sweet! Fantastic.
  5. Mine, too. Nice! Great pickup for sure!! I owned your previous copy for a spell, Peter. Enjoyed the heck out of it.
  6. Loving the BLB's!! Such awesome artwork. I have a small handful in my display case.
  7. Don't recall if I posted this here... Classic Everett!
  8. Its looking like 1.5's are my new 4.0. Picked this up on CLINK, great Zolnerowich cover and awesome interior artwork. I didn't know this was one of the tougher issues... maybe some of you can shed some light on scarcity.
  9. Ryan H pedigree! Here's all thats left of the RyanH pedigree (not including pulps, foreign/Canadian comics)... its been quite decimated over the years. Many board members have helped with the decimation.
  10. Amazing flea market find RobotMan!! Gotta love living in the States. I have never seen anything remotely that good at the Flea Markets/antique shows in Canada.
  11. Nice AMAN #5 RobotMan!! That is a great issue, prime Everett and Funnies Inc. content. I didn't catch the backstory on this find... what page is it on?
  12. I am LOVING these two... that SPICY puts my copy to shame. It was because of Dwight that I had to have a copy of this pulp!! But its doubtful there is a copy as nice as Dwight's. I'll take that SAX when you are through with it! (thumbs u
  13. Choosing from what I have handy in photo bucket... in no particular order...
  14. Small sci fi group shot, including several hard-to-find foreign items (Argentina, France, UK, Canada).
  15. Not me - his prices are way too high and his communication is poor. Pass. I concur Well, thanks to people like Stephen and Dan, I have been able to scratch my whites itch for a fraction of the cost of Brunom's material. Thanks guys! This is why I dig these boards: Stephen kindly gave me a heads up on this book on CLINK that I had been after for years: And Dan (Bronty) was nice enough to let go of this ACTIVE #12, another white that was high on my want list, and extremely scarce: So now, no need to go crawling to Brunom!
  16. Dan, all the photos you posted are fantastic, but this book is a stunner. That WOW run is really coming along! And that #1 is a really sweet looking lower grade copy. Great group shots!! Looking forward to seeing some of these in person.
  17. The trained monkeys are on strike at the moment. Contract negotiations are in the works. Did those trained monkeys look anything like giant alien apes? Those critters are fierce looking beasts! Something like this...
