This Week In Your Plastic Crack, Action Figures and Toy Collection
Summydad1 replied to Buzzetta's topic in Comics General
I never was a gamer. I bought my daughter a Switch and I play Mariokart with her sometimes. A friend recommended a Zelda game for it but after wasting a whole day off playing I realized I don't have the mindset for games. I did really like SilverHawks and MASK. MASK has a lot of figures and hasn’t gone crazy with pricing. TMNT never had a massive appeal for me like GI Joe. I did look at Voltron sets by matchbox and Bandai but those are sky high money -

I need some advise on my next toy collecting venture. I have tapped out on comics for now because the only comics I “need” are currently out of my price range for the grade I desire (Avengers 4, Hulk 181, GSX1). I was born in 1980 so I was a kid during all the best toys. I love GI Joes but have all the ones I want. I am interested in starting up a ThunderCats or He-man collection. I recently purchased a He-man and Battle cat and two Lion-o’s. All of which are mint out of package. I like both equally but only want to focus on one. Which is a better pick and why? -
Alex Ross for Cap and J Scott Campbell for my girl Felicia. Even though Supergirl 23 is a better cover, I prefer the character Black Cat and this is a phenomenal representation.

I’ll take any two of these, preferable 1 comic and 1 watch. -GSX 1 9.0 -IH 181 9.0 -Avengers 4 9.0 -Silver Surfer 4 9.0 -Omega planet ocean -Breitling avenger blackbird

Classic cover. His books are hot now. Second level key covers like this and ASM 316, Hulk 340 are getting valuable in 9.8. Here’s mine -

Absolutely will. As soon as I get home from work. -

Agreed that Coliseum is over priced. They have cool store set-ups but are usually unwilling to deal. If you are up for a drive, Jacksonville is 2 hours away and has three fantastic comic shops.

FURY-ous thread combining all Sgt. & Nick Fury books!

Probably posted this elsewhere at some point but this is the proper place. This book is in my top ten all-time. Love it! -
Exactly! UPS is far superior. We use UPS exclusively at work for shipping out bulk product. The drivers are better and the service is miles ahead of FedEx. USPS is pretty solid in my area. I have never really had an issue except when I had to go in to a branch to pick up a missed signature delivery. Those places are always a nightmare so I don’t blame the workers.

I agree 100%. I do not read very many comics but I was told a while back that the god of thunder run was great. I read through the TPB’s and loved it. Logically, after that I went hunting for all the keys, variants, and cool covers in Aaron’s run. Esad Ribic’s style is perfect for Thor too. Based off god of thunder I started with new Thor right form the beginning. Good stuff. Pair this run with Cates’ Venom and you have excellent material for many MCU movies.

Agreed. X-men 1 for me in highest grade possible. I would choose ASM 1 next because I don’t particularly care for Hulk or FF even though I appreciate their importance.

Here is a picture of my daughter dressed for a school party on Friday as Harley Quinn. Tonight she will have the tattoos on and a painted bat to carry.

I think the current run of Thor is setting the groundwork for years in the MCU. Cates is obviously Marvel’s go to guy. I think Knull is here to stay. I think Galactus is going to be the new “big bad.” I think Gorr from the god of thunder series is to cool to pass on. Black winter is getting ret-conned all the way back to Thor 169. That coincidentally is the origin story of Galactus. It all ties into Venomverse, which is hugely popular. I think one of the reasons, ASM 300 has exploded could be the popularity of the new Venom series and symbiote madness. I understand that some people dislike moderns and think their values/stories won’t hold up. Remember all comics were modern at some point. That being said, here is a shot of my modern Thor books I like.

I feel ya on the over-saturation. I do think it’s interesting that the cover came out before Margot Robbie was ever cast. I wonder if she was cast based partially on his art? The new 52 Harley Quinn is my favorite version of her.

Cool. Which books are you looking for? There are some great deals out there right now. My favorite AH covers are: - Supergirl 23 - Harley Quinn 1 - Wonder Woman 184 - Catwoman 51,70,74 I need to pick up another WW184.
