  1. Just came in this week as an upgrade for my 9.4. I already posted this elsewhere but this is the proper place.
  2. Dang! Hopefully the book was still salvageable. I hate the let down when you open a package and you know its not gonna turn out nicely. One time I ordered a graded VALIANT book from a regular seller and when it came the box looked like the mail truck ran over the corner of it. As I opened the end of the box, plastic pieces of the slab sprinkled out on the table. Not a good sign. The seller thankfully had like 5 identical copies and just sent me another one. I haven’t ever had a holder split like that though. Sucks
  3. Got in a 9.6 WP Iron Fist 14 today as an upgrade for my 9.0 WP. Booked looked amazing on eBay and the price was great. The book looked almost as good in hand except for a shard of plastic inside the case. My OCD cannot handle that so back it goes for a re-holder. Man that sucks to not even have the book in hand for 12 hours before it goes back out in the mail. Sorry, just had to vent. And where else better to do it I suppose?
  4. That is an excellent looking copy. Great wrap and no protruding inner pages. In my opinion a solid candidate for crack, press, regrade. Free statue too. Score!
  5. Upgraded my 9.4 WP to a 9.6 WP. I would love to have a 9.8 but it is $$$. Is it normal to be able to easily see through the front and back cover to the interior pages? The covers seem awful thin where I can see the print on the inside pages. Especially through the title letters. I have owned a couple copies of this book and never noticed till today.
  6. Sweet Jesus! I somehow always forget how hot she is. Then something like this pops up. She checks all the boxes.
  7. I was aware of the Alf cover but not the Rifleman.......Then I went to google images and I laughed til my face hurt. I have to own this. How did this slip by me?!?!
  8. When I say quality over quantity I am not judging anyone for what they love and what they collect. I mean “quality” as in quality of choices made not just hoarding tons of books so you can have a massive collection. That is of course just how I do it. And by the way your quantity of TOS and Cap is definitely quality.
  9. I give a vote for quality over quantity. I have purged once a year the last four years and I’m down to 4 short boxes and 2 CGC boxes for slabs. I have also gained an appreciation for Omnibuses in the past couple years. I probably had 2500-3000 at my peak. Now maybe 300-400 at the most and 25 Omnis.
  10. Chen was always one of my favorites for drawing X-O. Great colors on that book too. It would be so sweet if it didn’t have all that writing on the cover. Very distracting
  11. Given the choices I would take light saber. But over all, definitely Narsil. My local comic shop had a fully functional Narsil and Anduril set around Christmas time. The swords originally came out out around 2000. They were both in their boxes. I picked up the Narsil. I also got a sword plaque to mount it but haven’t gotten around to it.
  12. Picked up a couple Thor’s this week to complete my run up to date. Here’s a group shot.
  13. Picked up some sweet Daredevil this week. I have had these raw before but never graded. Love em!
  14. Excellent work! I have been searching for the right one for awhile. Yours has a good wrap and is well centered in the newest case just like I want. The book is a classic and hard to come by for the good price.
  15. Agreed. Not only is it my favorite Lee cover, it is in my top 5 all time. I would really like to have the OA.
  16. New Thor series + ratio variant + over priced/likely to drastically decrease in value soon = I’ll TAKE IT!
  17. For me it’s either Batman 608 2nd print or X-Men 268. Can’t beat a Cap and wolverine cover. Cool story too.
  18. Agreed that the minimal trade dress looks good on DC. Especially on B covers that focus more on the character. Batgirl 23 is a perfect example. I do like a title banner that matches the color scheme or enhances the design of the cover.
  19. I have thought about this a few times in the past couple years. I do not like the virgin variants. I prefer more of a classic trade dress cover with the name and publisher and price. It is definitely more traditional. In more simplistic terms it lets me know which book it is. Sometimes you can’t tell just by the cover art if the title character is obscured or absent all together. Also, not a fan of sketch covers. They look incomplete.
  20. Love of comics began with the onset of VALIANT. Harbinger 1 was the first comic that I remember coming out on fire on release day. I rode my bike after school to try and get one but missed out. After that day I couldn’t afford a NM Harby 1 till years later. If you guys weren’t around when OG VALIANT was started, trust me they were “the” comics to collect. On a side note the one comic I saw as a kid that I always knew I wanted was ASM 300. I remember it being a wall book at my local store and thinking how cool it would be to have one. Pipe dream for a ten year old kid in 1990. ASM 300 was the first CGC book I ever bought and I have owned many since.
  21. Had the book in 9.6 and raw in the past. Sold them around the time the first movie came out. Just picked this up and don’t know why. I got all hot and bothered with having a 9.8 but when it got delivered today I was blah. I like Deadpool and I can appreciate the book’s key status. Probably a good one to hold on to never the less. I always wonder which book will be more valuable in 20 years. New Mutants 98 or X-Men 266? That’s considering Gambit makes a successful movie appearance.
  22. This was mine for a very short amount of time.
