Thanks, but the poor guy looks like he's 12, doesn't he?
Yup.
And it is a purty book.

Add me to the jealous list. Very nice.

I think I have a few in my Photobucket account:
And so I don't appear to be a one-trick pony:

Since I'm having difficulty finding the Baker Jumbos I'm missing, I bought some nice Fights at a recent local convention:
-
*Bump!*
Recent purchases from my LCS. He apparently picked up a nice collection of Baker stuff.

I've been mostly lurking lately, and not buying much. Life has changed a bunch in the last year. I got divorced, switched from private practice to a state job (and then switched agencies), and recently bought a house on my own. *whew*
Anyway, here's a few recent arrivals. The Fights are from a recent Sac Con, the romance books are from my LCS.

Sorry, but not Fiction House-ish to me. More like non-hero 1970s DC stuff (which is also pretty darn cool).
That splash page is crying out to be framed and hung.

Also, I hope GACollectibles post his Baker purchase from the Chicago con
WOW.that is uber sweet. Are these near impossible to find?
They pop up on Heritage every once in a while.

This was high on my GA want list and arrived in the mail today:
(I wasn't sure what the protocol was, so I cropped the competitor's slab label out)
Since it's in one of THOSE slabs, I recommend you crack and read that baby. It's a great issue.

NO! No kitties on the comics!
Even worse, the top half of the stack she's on is all Golden Age, including a Frazetta Famous Funnies.
One of the many reasons I am not fond of cats
You can't say she doesn't have good taste.

Too late for the Fun with Numbers thread but I just got this one today. I wonder if I won any money.
Crack it and see!
Maybe there's a coupon for a free Kooba Cola inside also!

This pic has probably been posted in the past but I found it in a 1983 media mag.
After looking at that picture, I can better understand why some people were getting a little worried about comics in the early 1950s.

Tec #1 because... well... it's Tec #1. And because it's the first appearance of Slam Bradley. Any guy who picks a fight with Batman over a girl deserves more respect. You gotta have cajones to do that.

I'll take the blue-label Crime book over the worked-over Marvel.

this closes the wonderworlds run thru 7/40 [ok, ok, i'm being a little hyper-technical here as i still need wonder 1 & 2].
Great book geek!
Ditto!

Batman 1. First Joker. First Catwoman. Been wanting one since I was a kid. Bigger wow factor.

My Big Apple con pickup.
These early Rangers are affordable and definitely underrated. I can't believe the colors on this puppy....
I get all the tin cans, but just how did the natives get the flame throwers???
Nice book Jon! (thumbs u
They ambushed some Japanese soldiers. Everyone knows all the natives sided with the allies in WWII*. The bigger question is why are they threatening that poor woman?
* A historical fact derived from extensive reading of GA comic books.

So I go to pay for the Superboy 23 and the dealer asks if I am looking for any other issues, and sends me a list.
This is on the way and makes 3 more issues to go to complete the run:
Eagerly waiting for the group shot of the entire run...

Action #2, all day, every day.

Nice books folks!!
I haven't been buying much lately, but here's a gem of a book I won in the recent CLINK auction... it has since been cracked out, and the pages are gorgeous.
Two big reasons why I love this cover so much: its Everett, and its yellow.
Thats cool. Is he a World War 1 era hero.....as opposed to current (when the book was published) ?
Early WWII looked a lot like WWI in many respects. There was incredibly rapid technological improvement once the war really started heating up. This book is cover dated March 1940, which means it was probably created in late 1939 or very early in 1940. Hitler invaded Poland in September 1939 so the cover image is probably more accurate that we would initially think.
Have a Cigar! Golden Age only....!

I'm working on the Jumbo 68-130 run, but I'm down to about 13 or 14 more and it's getting harder to find them. Bummer.
It looks like I'm now working on Fight Comics 49-86 now also since I can't find the earlier Fights easily or the Jumbos I want.
