Hot blonde v. old guy picking his teeth?
I'll take the blonde. Bigger wow factor for the civilians too, I bet.

Let's see: blonde in a short tight dress or guy wearing a black handkerchief over his face.
I'll go with the Namora.

My first Fight. This book is gorgeous.
When you get tired of that Fight 40, see my sig file.
Ill keep that in mind, but it will be a long time before I tire of that book
May I ask, what's the approximate grade on the Fight?
And no, I'm not asking cause I want one...

The situation is so stressful to this poor woman that it has instantly turned some of her hair gray.
I believe it's really Stacy London dealing with someone who REALLY doesn't want a wardrobe make-over.

I have returned from a temprary collecting hiatus due to the purchase of a new home and preparation for the birth of my first child (due in August).
I picked up these gems (at least IMO) over the weekend:
Although not a war cover (which is my focus), I have sought after this Lou Fine classic for a long time.
My first Fight. This book is gorgeous.
Fun book. Low grade. Price was right.
Last but not least, gotta love it

I finally got around to hooking up my scanner to my new computer and scanning my SuperCon (San Jose) purchase. I didn't find any Baker Jumbos, but I was happy to find this:

I'm not a Wonder Woman fan, but it does have the first appearance of Wildcat who I like... BUT, the Action is a 9.4 Church copy so I'll go with Superman also.
-
Adventure, unless Scrooge #1 is rare in 9.4. Then Scrooge in a heartbeat.
-
Tec 27. Bigger wow factor.

A slight change of pace.
The scenario: You're a small comic book publisher facing declining sales. You have to let go of one of your two editors. Which one would you choose to stay and why?

So, Andy, was it worth it?
IMNSHO, insides are terrible, cover is a classic. Kind of like buying a Porsche and finding a Datsun engine inside.

Someone actually RECEIVED a book from Uthe???The graded one I got in the mail today. The ungraded one my dad bought from William Uthe (or however you spell the German scam artists name), and I plan to sell it.
Receipt of the book involved Lauren, Paratrooper, and Uthe. It looked something like this:

i diagree with some of the list but Detective 27 comming in at like the 26 most important comicbook of all time I couldnt see and claiming Tec 38 to be more important?
If I follow what I think hes saying is that the first app of a sidekick[robin] is more important than the 1st app of Batman.
What he was trying to do was rate comics as to their importance to the medium, not value.
By that criteria there is some basis to make the claim that Detective 38 had more influence over the comics that came after it then Detective 27 did. Whether there was a Batman or not, there would definitely be more superheroes. But if not for the success of Robin we probably would not have seen nearly as many sidekicks. Does that argument hold water? Maybe, maybe not. But it certainly shows me that DC did everything in its power to hold Marvel back...without Robin there would be no Toro!
I'd argue that without Robin, Batman may have been a second-tier character who didn't survive the Golden Age. Robin gave readers someone to identify with and gave Batman someone to interact with. Batman as a solitary avenger is a limited concept. Superman had Lois Lane, Doc Savage had his aides, etc.
That said, the bronze to present interpretation of Alfred makes Robin superfluous as a character as he perform same or similar story functions but is a better character overall.

Tec 38 without a question. And if I had that copy, I might revise my will to demand it be buried with me.
-
I'll ditto that.
Which one would you choose ????
