  1. Truer words were never spoken. We don't post the days where we go, spend hours and find copies of X-Force #33
  2. Personally, I would try here first. Avoids fees and its a run of books I am sure people would be interested in Otherwise, I would try eBay. As for grading them (or more of them), consider what you think they are worth vs what they could be worth if you spend some time and money to grade them and if it is worth it. For example, if you spend $500 to grade 10 books and you feel you know the grades you will get and the chance is there to up the value by double or more, sure take some time to grade them. If not, well you may just want to sell them all now.
  3. 3.5 for sure. I believe the amount of spine and edge wear keep it from 4.0 or better. Still a nice low grader!
  4. Did you request a green label or did CGC decide on it with this one? I had always thought they would give it a blue and put "name on the cover" but maybe that only applies to lower grade (like VG to Fine) books
  5. I don’t see them as a defect at all personally. And to be honest if someone had a Fine copy of a book I wanted with a stamp and someone else had the same copy without and prices were the same, I would take the date stamp. Its just something cool to the history of the book. As for effect on grade, pretty sure CGC doesn’t ding much for it if at all. You can have a Silver or Bronze Age book in 9.2-9.6 with a stamp on it, provided that it warrants that grade even if the stamp were not present.
  6. Actually yea. I graded comics and studied how and bought books and looked at CGC pictures for 17 years. Just about three years ago I finally felt confident enough to talk with fellow collectors so I joined the thread and try my best to shed light on an approximate grade as best I can. And when I’m wrong I love to learn why...it’s why I love when people come back with an update effect sending books in
  7. First, I never assume with half the info. Front cover, definitely 9.2-9.4 appearance. But I would like to see the centrefold, pages (in the same pic) and of course back. Until then, I would not assign a grade or even a price to it and anything is a gamble. Odds are you have at least a VF and up copy here but the chance exists that there is a stain on the back and a detached centrefold....you wanna risk buying/bidding/offering on one pic, that is your call
  8. Consider this personal story from last year... During the height of the pandemic, I order my groceries for pick up to limit contact. I do a fair bit of cooking so orders were made twice a week usually. For four straight months, everything worked great. I got everything I ordered, the fresh food was great, the service was great. And if substitutions had to be made, it always worked out. Then, on maybe the 30 somethingth time order, I went to pick up and half my order was missing. I was like “hey where are these other items I ordered” and they said they weren’t on my order. What had happened? Well rather than post about how terrible they were immediately because my order wasn’t right or yell and scream at the delivery person, I took a moment and looked. And sure enough I had made the error of not clicking save when I had tried to update my original order. Fault was mine. Frustrating but my fault. No need to internet hate the company. My error. I thanked the person, said I messed up and went home with my half grocery order. Right now you are at the stage where you need to check your grocery order. Meaning look at these cards once in hand. Then you may have grounds to an actual issue with CGC if they messed up. Just because your last grocery orders were entered perfectly doesn’t mean they all will be.
  9. I mean I’m pretty neutral considering I’ve never sent books to CGC. Well aware of them I am, sure, and how they grade comics and grading comics in general. I’m here for the hobby talk and of all the companies that grade comics, CGC seems the most consistent. I’m just applying an equally logically counter argument. Not to defend CGC but rather to say your claim sounds like many that come on here randomly over the years threatening to take down CGC or that they were unfair or whatever. And I can tell you that everyone of those people disappear into oblivion and never return to share the actual truth. My guess is they get their books (or in your case cards) back and they realize they complained about nothing are are too ashamed to come back and admit personal error. It’s a hard thing to do. I mean it’s that or CGC mafia puts a hit out on these folks....I’m gonna go with that theory. Prove me wrong!
  10. You should also reflect on the thread and notice how no one seems to agree with you. That should tell you that maybe you need to do some of the things I suggested to get the community to turn on CGC with pitchforks.
  11. Lol I would never hassle anyone except the clown. His wife and kids aren’t on here complaining
  12. No it wouldn’t. Again I’m gonna throw some things out here that you can confirm or deny or ignore like you tend to 1. You’ve studied card grading for more than five years (my guess is no) 2. You are younger than 30 (my guess is yes based off you entitledness attitude) 3. When you are wrong, you always try to lay blame elsewhere first before self reflecting (again seems to be a yes) 4. Internet lambasting and rage is your first avenue to deal with problems (again answer seems to be yes) 5. Your main motivations for these cards is sales and profit and since a batch has endangered that, you become upset (again seems a likely yes)
  13. Here is your logic... CGC saw I was upset that a batch of my cards were not graded as fast as others so their solution was to rush grading or revenge grade me because I complained. They deliberately monitored me on these forums and found my batch and hit me hard with inappropriate grades, which could likely result in driving away business from myself and other who believe and listen to what I say. Yup. You are right. Sounds like what a company would do to help their business.
  14. Is your case moderately curious? Yes. But this proof you keep posting is terrible. Its like saying “hey this guy is responsible for stealing a couch at IKEA. Stealing couches is what he does so this theft must be him as well!” without actually providing any physical proof he was ever at that IKEA. All you have done is say “hey I submit a lot to CGC and others and generally get back 9.0 or better cards and now that I haven’t CGC is automatically evil” without looking at any of these cards to see why they got the grades they did.
  15. Ok well 19 times out of 20 I can predict a comic book grade within a half point of what CGC gives it.... ....by your logic, that one time when I am off by a grade point or more I should complain and assume they are trying to screw me? oh oh oh I’m sorrrrrrryyyyy. You want bulk because bulk matters. Ok, let’s say I self grade 10000 comics and 9000 of them come back with grades within the 0.5 buffer I predicted. The rest were off. Now should I be yelling at CGC?
  16. I assume there are graders notes for cards...if so why haven’t you shared? If not then images OF THE CARDS AND NOT YOU BATCH COMPARISON are needed!
  17. Do you have a batch of grades inconsistent with other batches? Yes Does that mean CGC automatically messed up and is screwing you on purpose? No Have you shown people here ANY evidence of the actual cards to support your claims that CGC graded you harsh out of spite or for whatever reason? No You have provided no evidence other than that one batch seems inconsistent with the other. Until you provide visual evidence of the cards themselves you have no case here.
  18. Again, none of your posts answer any of my questions. And again, they highlight how you just seem upset that CGC may have graded harsher than other companies. You still sound and seem like an extreme amateur both in knowledge and behaviour regarding this whole thing. I assume you can read....I hope....when you share some grader notes or pictures of these supposedly "revenge" graded cards that should be perfect according to you, I will take interest. Until then, you keep on stewing.
  19. 9.2-9.4 That small back edge bend might press out. And like others, if CGC treats those small bottom edge tears as manufacturing tears (which they appear to be), then 9.4 seems most definite, with a shot at 9.6
  20. Spine roll, wear, corner creases and some tanning. Easily 4.0-4.5 and pressing it flat could guarantee 4.5-5.0
