  1. But I think that was the point. The creators wanted to do that homage. I mean, maybe we care little for seeing a whole episode of black and white television but that was their artistic choice. And I liked it. I think this story would be EXTREMELY cliche and boring if we just had them in modern times, living in a "bubble" town apart from the outside world. It needed that weird sitcomy aspect to really get me invested, personally. And it put a smile on my face in addition to wanting to search out every clue and reference possible that was woven in, whether it means something or not. As someone who casually watched MCU movies, or just tuned into this, well I can see why they would have zero interest of course.
  2. Very cool! What if in Wandavision, instead of like the House of M arc where she set reality back and eliminated mutants, what if she alters reality on a grand scale and creates a reality where they exist? Maybe that is too huge of a concept but ya never know.
  3. What I don't get is what people hated soooo much about episodes 1-3? Did you hate the homage to old sitcoms? Did you hate the Easter eggs and teasers and red herrings and mystery that each episode added? If you hate these things, I think you miss were missing the point of the entire thing. I understand someone coming in and assuming it would all be done in glorious MCU fashion and to see that and be like "what is this" but to say it was terrible or bad I think is unfair. Were 3 whole episodes necessary? Maybe not...but remember Marvel wants to make money, they want to build up to something, whatever it is. And I think they have done a masterful job at that so far. The mystery is only slightly clearer with still enough questions left to answer in the remaining episodes.
  4. Looks great, back corners look a tad soft so safely I will say 9.4-9.6
  5. Looks like a sharp book, potential 9.4 BUTTTTTTTT......this is a problem... That oxidization on the staple could bump it back to VF range so I will say 8.5
  6. But then why does she see his dead face? If he was a robot that wouldn’t happen. She saw his face during a moment where she kind of lost a grip and, to me, it seemed like she pauses and put her head down to regain focus so when she looked back up, Vision was restored to his normal appearance.
  7. True but nothing changed when Vision was talking to the neighbours. Like why have that moment? Wanda was inside realizing that Geraldine was not supposed to be there....why did we see the neighbour and Agnes trying to tell him? He seems too independent to just be a total figment of her imagination....
  8. If you love it, go for it! It’s a 7.5-8.0 book for me and the kind of book I’m always happy to have in the PC
  9. @Namtak You need to get out more! That is totally a back cover on ole Zilla-god and clear backing boards are the answer to all your “how can I display this great back cover” problems!
  10. I liked episode four a lot! Some points to add on from what I thought after last episode.... 1. I’m betting the FF are the “failed” programs or missions mentioned. How easy would it be to “find” these astronauts and bring them home with powers and bam, you have the FF in the MCU. 2. I really think this show will finish with confirmation of mutants, specifically Magneto and or Professor X. I think “Voodoo Child” playing at the end is a nod to Wanda having a father And some questions I still have or that came up 1. Where did those cops do who were outside of Westview? Is Wanda controlling them to deter people from entering the town? If so they aren’t doing a great job....maybe with her focus on so much she forgets about them? 2. Where is the agent who went in underground? 3. If Vision is a figment of Wandas world, how come he seems to think for himself? That scene last episode with Agnes and the neighbour guy had purpose that I hope is answered. 4. I don’t for a second trust the current leader of SWORD. Not for a second. If he’s not a double agent I don’t know who is. 5. Are the people in the town part of a real town who Wanda is controlling? Did Wanda kidnap them for roles in her world? Did they wander in and she assigned them a role?
  11. assuming you are in the US, your cost per book would be in the range of $20-30, possibly more if you are submitting certain books. But all in, shipped there and back, that’s a decent average. It is worthwhile to submit more to save more if able to.
  12. Is there a stain under the second "R'" in Surfer? If so, I am around 3.0-3.5 If not, I think 3.5-4.0 seems more reasonable.
  13. Sorry, wasn't familiar with that term from across the pond. Carry on, guv'ner!
  14. My advice if sending more stuff to CGC is 1. Send it 2. Check that they get it 3. Don't think about them for 6 months. After that time, make a call or two if they are not back in your possession. This should be the mentality for 2021 as much as it was for majority of 2020.
  15. In a COVID world, no timeframes with CGC are guaranteed at the moment. You could wait another couple weeks, maybe a month or so. It is what it is and hey, maybe you think CGC should do more about this but when you consider that they probably received 100+ times their normal number of submissions during the latter half of last year (and to my knowledge still only have 20 some odd graders), you can understand why delays happen. Their mentality? They would rather you wait 4-6 months for books graded accurately than hire 30-40 more people quickly, who are not trained and as experienced, and have a bunch of quick turnaround times but lose integrity to their grading. And hey...you can argue that the integrity of their grading is also a problem but that is a separate conversation (and a brief one when you consider that, if they grade 1000 comics, surely a small percentage will be slightly over or undergraded as it is a company run by humans and no matter the biz, human error always exists).
  16. @rossalexmax I jest You should know that generally, when people on here tell you it is worthless or has little value, it generally does...this community here does not exist to tell you youo have nothing and then try to scam you. If someone here who has been active for years and posts often says "it's not worth much", you can trust em. I know that is not as cool of an answer for finding a super old book in an attic but the reality with a LOT of comic book finds is that they are not the motherload. Still a fun reprint of a classic book to have to enjoy.
  17. ^ The original poster is now gonna think they have a gem mint graded book and ask $160
  18. The only reprints of ASM #1 worth money are the Golden Record ones from the mid 60's. In the 90s and until now, they reprinted this issue many times in many formats.
  19. I saw one for sale in a shop last year....guy had $10 on it. I can ask and see if it's still there....
  20. I grew up loving the 90s animated Spidey so that played a role. But one day while on vacation, my dad randomly took me and my brother into a comic shop.My dad never collected but he just wanted to pick up and read some random DC war books like GI Combat and Weird War Tales as he recalled them from his childhood. I remember walking right past all the new stuff up front to the old bins in the back, pulling out 35 and 40 cent issues of Spectacular Spider-Man and being hooked.
