  1. He was a standard mercenary type who tried to be funny early on but the humour never landed. I would say Joe Kelly really took him that extra step, making him actually funny and from there, people really amped it up. To the point of beyond silly at times but hey, the fans seem to like it. While Deadpool visually is a neat character, he has never been interesting enough for me to say I love him.
  2. I tend to avoid Instagram...it is becoming much worse than it was even a year ago. Ebay is fine but Paypal and fees and yuck Here has become a lovely place thus far! But don't expect to come here selling common junk for inflated prices. Take those 90's Ghost Rider #1's elsewhere I say!
  3. You take that stuff out of here right now. Elfish slag.....
  4. I think people here have nailed it. 9.8 is the obtainable perfect. Generally, I don't care the difference between 9.2 or 9.4 or 9.6 BUT I do recognize that these all have visible flaws, however small, that deter it from the obtainable perfect grade. What I wonder is if, over time, we see a lessening of the gap between 9.6 and 9.8. For so many books, it is huge.
  5. Haha hard pass on that And yes I do pick up Ditko, Sutton and Kim covers of Charlton books
  6. Take em all for $160US shipped! (And for those who have bought from me before I always throw in some extras just for fun and as thanks:)
  7. Thor 134 Edge wear to bottom and faint stain to top left near price that is also seen on the back. Calling it VG-. $65USD
  8. Tales of Suspense 50 Beat but complete. Staples added. A reader for sure and a tough one to price but let’s say $85USD

  10. I am in the process (slow moving too as I just peck away at it when I have time) of using the CLZ Comics app to catalogue and value my collection. I believe the values on here are based off CGC sales and since my collection is 98% raw, I know that whatever it gives me for "value" is likely closer to 50-60% of what it tells me. As for valuing other people's collections for buying, I base it off the keys. What are the keys valued at? That gives me a starting point. For example, in a collection of 500 comics, if there are 10 keys worth $1000 combined, I start my offer in that vicinity and work my way up depending on how well I think the rest of the $1-10 stuff in the collection can sell. I also factor in condition. I will pay more for nicer stuff. Low grade 70s and 80s and 90's stuff? That can be tough to sell so I usually go lower. Gold Key and Charlton books in low grade shape? I usually walk away from.
  11. I think the answer is simple. Advise you will wait "x" number of days longer (maybe the same number of days they waited or were going to have waited for you to get boxes) and then just say, sorry I am going to relist. If they ghost you, well, they ghost you. If they try to blast you well, you handled it fine even by giving extra time after asking for it yourself. I can't see why that would cause someone to get mad or not side with you should the "buyer" here decide to make some sort of stink be it here or on Insta.
  12. 2.5-3.0 And I have a bunch of questions I’d ask before I laid anywhere close to market value for it.
  13. I love comics so for me, investing in them is hard. Why? Well if I were to splurge on a book likely to go up, I would have a hard time selling it because I would think it’s so cool to have it in the first place. I don’t treat the hobby that way so it’s hard for me, even though there are plenty of books that I could buy that I wouldn’t care much about (ex. Many older DC keys) But I also don’t like gambling like that. It’s likely I’d be fine, knowing what I know, but the sheer fact that I would be buying comics as investment takes me to an area of the hobby I don’t want to worry about. I’m happy buying and selling to support the books I like, reading them and continuing to diversify my collection. And hey, it stands to reason when I’m done doing it in this way, that I’ll still be able to profit down the road if selling has to happen.
  14. Other have left in depth comments that are spot on. I am also in 7.5 range
  15. True, 20 year old slabs seem to hold up fine. Which bodes well for them 40 or 60 or 100 years from now. Although whose to say at year 65, a secret Banksy-esque hidden device in all slabs slices the book in half!!!! MUAHAHAAH
  16. I have seen books graded by CGC and then regraded by CBCS and they came in lower I have seen books graded by CGC and then graded by CBCS and they came in higher I have seen books graded by CBCS and then graded by CGC and they came in lower I have seen books graded by CBCS and then graded by CGC and they came in higher I have seen books graded by CGC and then graded by CBCS and they graded the same I have seen books graded by CBCS and then graded by CGC and they graded the same I have seen books graded by CGC and then graded by CBCS and page quality was vastly different I have seen books graded by CBCS and then graded by CGC and page quality was vastly different I've seen things man....
  17. 2.0-2.5 from me also. It looks better than my 1.5-1.8 FF #6 so I think she falls firmly in the Good range.
  18. You can leave your slabbed comic in the sunlight for a couple years and the quality of the book inside will change but the outside grade will not. So in 40-50 years, we could have slabs where the books inside are definitely not true 80's. These cases, especially the older ones, are not air tight. Granted they provide a lot of protection, and who knows, maybe a comic will really stand the test of time inside a slab. Truth is, we won't know until that day comes. And neither will CGC.
  19. I haven't! Give me Bernie in the Shining! Give me Bernie as the Stormtrooper who whacks his head! More I say!
  20. I love finding notations on old books like this. I recently got a couple older western books that just had the original owners name neatly written in them and on some of them, she had stamped an image of a girl with a dog. It was clear it was her way to notate her books when she was young. Also, I want every book you just shared
  21. 6.0 from me. Sucks about the spine split and tear cuz without those, it could be a full 2 grades higher
