  1. I am also at 3.0 but would not be surprised if a GA bump happened and it got 3.5.
  2. Thanks all! I sold it as is...if it had a shot at 9.0 or better I was going to grade but alas, I too felt the fingerprint would keep it from that range or better.
  3. I agree. The fanned pages don't bother me personally and I think with them 4.5-5.0 seems likely WIthout them? Book could creep into 5.5 or so territory. I mean I can see risking if selling but if I owned this book I would slab as is and love as is (the page fanning doesn't bother me at all)
  4. I'll go lower, 5.0-5.5. Heavy crease, plus some spine ticks plus what appears sun shade/shadow to top edge. All of those ding it harder than one might like given the strong structure of the book.
  5. I am at 3.0-3.5 but again, a 4.0 would not shock me. Sucks there is writing on it but it is kind of a neat story? Maybe? A kid practicing his right angled triangles for math class?
  6. I am tempted to say 3.5 but there is the GA bump (for me anyways) as I am either spot on or low EVERY TIME I grade a 50s books. Thus, I shall say 4.0 and a 4.5 would not shock me. 5.0 seems a bit too generous even for this era.
  7. 7.5-8.0 from the spine ticks. A press might guarantee 8.0 happens. 8.5 would be a stretch IMO. Again all of this assumes the back looks decent. Could very well fall lower if flaws are present there.
  8. I am also of the 5.5-6.0 camp, would not be surprised with 6.0 at all.
  9. 9.0 from me, mayyybeeee 9.2 Def some spine dings but overall very minimal. Tough one to get this nice with that blackground.
  10. Mine has similar yellow staining although mine is along the top edge on the back. Yours looks a bit worse than mines and I’ve always considered my raw copy to be in the 8.0-8.5 range. So 7.0-7.5
  11. I also would not be surprised with 6.5-7.0 for a grade on it. Super sharp colour and a bit of noticeable spine wear.
  12. I’m always wary of people who don’t take returns. Like why? He probably didn’t see the flaws in the pics and you never mentioned. Work out a refund and re list noting the flaw. Move along folks, move along…
  13. Moderate creasing? Check out where that is because usually they notate if these break colour. The fact they did not might suggest some really poor handling, something I would definitely contact about and inquire about some form of compensation.
  14. Amazing stuff! YOU should be publishing books. Your level of detail and research on yet ANOTHER price variant that no one knew of is just the best to read about. It really is. Applause all around, I am a fan!
  15. I've always assumed these were just stamped on there by some place back the day as part of a giveaway? Perhaps comic shops or newsstands or someplace ordered them as giveaways? Maybe Marvel donated them to a school or library or something and they were stamped as such? I don't have any like this personally but I know I have a couple labelled as File Copies Do Not Sell...I'll have to dig those out. Again, these are different but kind of the same premise...given out and stamped as such so as not to be sold. As for demand, I mean I picked up the issues I have for dollars because people viewed the stamps as negative. I thought they were fun so I picked them up but I would not say there is a huge market for them, at least not one I am aware of.
  16. Nice looking book. Darn fingerprint! I will gladly take hints to remove if anyone has any. Or if It’s doomed to exist there forever, where do you think it puts the grade for this one. Thanks!
  17. Yeah something like that. I always just enjoyed last grading contests because everyone donated as this was part of the entry fee to play. Usually such an entry fee deterred people who did not want to enter a donation and we had 150-200 or so playing. But at more than that I feel you lose that aspect of people who want to donate.
