  1. Where are you getting the $150 value from? CGC/CCS value tier is about $50 combined per book. CGC shipping chart is about $30 for 1 book. Priority mail to them ~$13 If your main motivation is profit, ss is immediate profit or do not mind holding onto the book as you never know when it could appreciate (poss a decade...)
  2. 9.4-9.6 Tough to go better than that from pics w/o it in hand to really scrutinize it. If u have access to a scanner, take a 200-300 dpi scan and enlarge it and see what flaws u can find
  3. watched 2nd episode this morning. Luv the horror feel to it so far. I wonder if the series will continue to be Abby centric with the Swamp Thing on the peripheral edges or it it switches to be centered more on him, or the two of them
  4. Watch the premiere episode last night and enjoyed it. Shame it won't be given a second season
  5. Out of about 25 slabs, I have one with noticeable rings. I honestly haven't tilted them at every angle to check, but if I don't see them after giving them a good state after unboxing then I'm not too worried
  6. I'll say 7.0 with the wear on the spine
  7. Wow ,congrats!! With that chip and a couple tears (at least a they're on the back), I'll say a 4.5-5.0
  8. yea - another batch just came in. Nice weekend surprise! Definitely better grades than I thought. thanks to @joeypost for these !!! Bought this circa 1980 from my LCS. It was hanging on the wall for maybe $20. Joey let me know ahead of time that it had some small amateur color touch and gave his opinion of what it would do to the comic to have it removed. I decided to leave it as is based on the amount of probable damage to it.
  9. with the spine wear, color breakign creases at bottom and non breaking ones at top, I'll guess a 5.5 pre press
  10. Why don't you tell him to send you the refund first, then you'll send him the book back.
  11. Zola - luv the picture frame look "Comics vs Thread" vs "Who Do You Love Thread"
  12. Your primary concern should be ENJOYING THE COMIC
  13. ok - in that case I'll guess around a 6.5 which could be spot on or way off given things which we can't see due to that.
  14. are you able to remove it from bag & take scans of the front/back? Otherwise you may not get much feedback. or is this something you saw and just took a pic of?
  15. some mid- late 80's I just received back
  16. I never knew that - thanks fort posting that. As far as what I've learned about submitting - not only get an idea of defects, press/clean potential, poss value - I also want to try and then bunch submissions by tier level. That will minimize your return shipping, especially if you submitting a dozen plus books. I read a post here somewhere about the max # books CGC sends back in 1 shipment so you'd want to stay under than to number if you had a large batch. How much/lttle profit you take into consideration when deciding to slab is up to you. There's no wrong answer
  17. I dunno around 2.5. Seems to banged up to reach 3.0
  18. I see a series of creases on the spine along with some type of dirt. Corners don't look bad. Some edge wear on he back bottom. Overall it's a nice looking copy. I also think I see a light subscription crease which runs down the 'e' in Fawcett. I'd guess around 6.0
  19. I'd prob be the only one on the planet with a Rom #1 1.0!!! Uh oh, better stop posting before I bump my count enough for a 1.5 instead...
  20. I just hit 300 posts - economies of scale being what they are, can I get a Rom #1 5.0?
  21. I submitted one which I though was a 6.0 around Feb time frame. Still waiting for it to come back. What was around $850 is now $1400!
  22. Watched Shin Godzilla last night. While I give them credit for trying something a bit different, having Godzilla basically stand there for his brief appearances wasn't enough for me. The human elements, though, were more interesting than in the KOTM file. Oh and credit to whomever cast that Japanese/American liaison girl!
