  1. i think the characters may have been drawn by starlin. mar-vell sure looks like it and the others sure seem to be his style.
  2. finally got around to setting up and taking pics of the set i was lucky enough to win on ebay a few years back:
  3. i had to watch that episode cause i had the Navarone playset as a kid. it was great stuff used it for army men and later for star wars figures.
  4. great book made greater by the fact you owned it for so long - gratz on that - far too often these books change hands unexpectedly due to financial circumstances.
  5. for me i prefer 232 because the interior art is Adams. 227 always sells quickly around here so it might be bigger from a sales point of view.
  6. paid a little over gpa on this one but i thought it was worth it. Has better gloss than i expected from the scan...
  7. I had a similar thought when I saw that right edge. It just doesn't look right at all. .....ASM 9 is common with pages extending.....check the HA archives for reference......a perfectly centered and aligned copy is tough. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u mine has extended pages to a lesser degree too bad you can't tell from the scan that they are about as bone white as i have ever seen in a silver age book...
  8. it's been 10 years this month since i picked up this copy.... [/img]
  9. bulletproof packaging that arrived promptly and the books was as described-couldn't ask for more.
  10. nice pick up - my star wars falcon was very well cared for but well played with. Was still virtually flawless and prolly a NM like most of my star wars toys. i remember other kids being taken aback by the fact i always had all the guns for my figures. i eventually sold the whole lot to a nice old man at englishtown flee market who bought then for his grandkids then gave the money away to the poor. Was one of the better gifts i have given in my life as those items really meant something to me as a child.
  11. i remember back in the day a certain big time dealer got in trouble for selling a lot of books that had been worked on. The term was micro dot color touch. i remember at a SD con i was looking at a CGC 9.2 NM- spidey 2(PLOD) with a dot on the spine and i couldn't see it then a certain prominent restorer( at that time) pointed it out to me and said 5 years ago nobody ever would have known it was there but now with CGC these are being found. I have never personally come across the micro dot technique outside of this instance and truth to be told i still couldn't see it when pointed out and i usually see touch ups easily so i just assume its so tiny its much harder to see iwth the naked eye and just used on really high end books back then to achieve minty status. Anyone here seen that type of work? Is it really harder to detect?
  12. bought copies of spidey 45 & 46 sight unseen ( first time ever in 30 years of collecting?) both were undergraded couldn't be happier fell like i just dealt with a friend of Jesus and it was pretty cool
  13. accurately graded silver age marvels. very happy with the transaction
  14. gratz very nice looking for technical grade - nice 1st post as well - welcome to the boards!
  15. picked this up at a good price in the last big heritage auction:
  16. bought 3 strictly graded raw books. recommended!
  17. hard to believe. the gremlin makes me think you are kidding. if not you might think about a price inquiry if it is a nice set as these are extremely rare and sought after. I think most collectors have never seen one. the guy in the blog said he looked for around 20 years before seeing one.
  18. this is probably the coolest rare toy i had as a kid. i gave it away to a friend but was lucky enough to aquire another about 5 years ago.... marvel world if you scroll all the way down and click on one of the pics of the set you will find over 30 pics that show just how cool this set is
  19. top notch grading in a no hassle worry free transaction-A+
  20. A+ service, packing, and price point -very happy (thumbs u
