gratz! i thought about buying that copy a few times while it was up for sale. It does look to have very rich color covers for a lower mid-grade.

actually I bought this copy right here on the boards at Christmas time but I only posted it in the appreciation thread.

being as we had a foolkiller selling frenzy today in the marketplace I thought it might be appropriate to post the best book i ever bought from him . Not to mention the fact its one of the greatest comics ever made...

Nice ASM #15!! Quality looking 7.0 2 all time classics there. For me the story in 15 is one of Lee's best and the cover of annual 1 has always been one of my favorites, story is good too but 15 is a better read imo.

Nice book. If you are really serious about putting that run together you might do yourself a favor and hold off on buying smaller books til you can save up enough $$$(if necessary) to get a copy of #1 that suits you. That book is only going to appreciate and at a pace thats going to make it potentially very painful if you wait too much longer. most of the other silver age x-men books are fairly stable pricewise in midgrade and will remain affordable for the long haul.

yeah i guess you miss out on some high quality content when you mostly just browse the selling forum. you have no idea... Actually I do thats why I bookmarked directly to the selling forum. People just get too wrapped up in comics general and start losing their minds. I don't want to be the next to go insane.

You should get one for inventive gremlin use. I have to admit i never would have thought of combining those 2 like that.

I'm on the waiting list but I don't feel too bad its the guy who has 10K++ posts and no custom title that should feel bad. At the rate i am going I will reach the noob title in 10 years thats more than enough glory for me.

Don't remember why i logged on in 2005 but I do recall i joined in the midst of the Jason Ewerts fiasco. The board was filled with outrage and disappointment. Turned out to be a tough act to follow as far as people being excited over an issue. Haven't seen anything like it since.

finally got a copy of this book and it's worthy of appreciation! many thanks to filter81 for an easy christmas transaction and bulletproof packaging that saved the book from a close call with the gorillas in the mailroom!

Sadly i am out of the club. Just came down out of the stratoshere to sell the book at a nice price on the link. Although a surge is possible before the next avengers movie the timing was right for me. Someday I hope to own a nice copy again.

Very nice...and I assume you read it VERY CAREFULLY! Congrats on the upgrade. Looks like a legit 6.5 to me too. Looks much nicer than a 6.5. +111 Thanks for the kind words guys. It just goes to show sometimes being an obsessive and eccentric comic collector pays off as we all know the safe thing to do would be never crack it and throw it in a vault but I just had to read it.

will the book continue to go up? , sure... will it get to TOS39 or JIM83 $$ level. , IMO/ , No, not unless the movie is a HUGE blockbuster, and even then, not so sure The book is certainly in the up and up without a movie, but with an announcement of one, I think it can go higher. It may reach the TOS 39/JIM 83 levels (they started off as "B" heroes before all the movies and now they are in the "A" realm). I can see it happening with Dr. Strange as well. Yes, the movie would have to be a hit for it to happen, but seeing how good the Marvel movies are as of late, I have no doubts about it. Question is, is Dr Strange even at the level of Iron Man/Thor before their movies? .. i don't think so.. will ST110 go up in value as it nears "movie time" , yes, without question. will it get to the level of TOS/JIM. Id be really hard press to think so... (if not flat out , no) but thats my , stranger things have happened! It's all speculation and guesses at this point. No one really knows for sure what's gonna happen in the future. All we know is that the book was undervalued for all these years and finally it is getting the respect and attention it deserves. I think the idea these books will increase is rock solid. The question is how much. I bought a high grade run(around VF) about 5-6 years ago when these books were at a point that only NM range books were costly. Those who invested in CGC 9.2 or better back then are sitting pretty right now. I wish I had and I am pretty sure I would have had i not been working on collecting the entire marvel age. Even if the movie doesn't get made or is just plain bad these early Strange appearances are still classics and I believe will prove to be rare enough in grade to hold value and continue an upward trend going forward. Obviously a well received movie could give these books another nice surge in value but that really is speculation at this point.

Before: once upon a time this was an old label CGC 6.0 but i cracked it open, read it a few times and put it in my collection. Just got it back from CGC. I included the old label with the submission but they still gave it a different grade. I always thought it looked very nice for grade. This book has never been pressed. After:

I think it should fetch top dollar for its technical grade due to front cover looking so sharp. will have to work on the scan too much glare and the colors look fresher in hand. I wanted to pick up a copy of this book last year but couldn't bring myself to spend on nice copy but also was unable to settle for a raw VF range book. Last night i finally said heck with it and bought this copy from qualitycomix

You know i kinda prefer pay as you go. Thats why i have been using amazon which up til last night had been flawless.
