  1. Looks to me those in the market for a bargain minty copy have found their book. BTW I know Borock is grader over there and he used to be the toast of the town back in the day when he was primary grader here but his rep has taken quite a hit on these boards. I personally bought a 6.0 i was very happy with recently. Has the grading by and large really been that loose over there or are books getting under GPA mostly due to lack of name recognition? Been out of the loop so a brief update on the situation would be appreciated if anyone has the time. The market for CGC books tends to perform better than the other company in the same grades (if same structurally too). CGC has been more stricter lately which makes the other company grades to be a bit softer. Well then maybe its a good thing. in the past the only other company was so disreputable CGC had a monopoly. Now with a legit competitor CGC has to be top notch to win in the long haul.
  2. It's nice. Just don't understand why they don't CGC'ed it. Looks to me those in the market for a bargain minty copy have found their book. 3. thanks for the praise on my books. Years ago i decided i was going for a completist run instead of high grade. In hindsight I would have went uber highgrade only if I had realized the return would be this high in just about a decade but being as i figured such appreciation would probably take 20-30 years the collector side of me won out. This led me to spend countless hours study scans to find the most appealing books i could afford. It was a borderline effort looking back on it. I am glad you guys find the books appealing itmake me feel a little less
  4. ! Thanks! I have grown more fond of it over time. Owned a VG range copy for years and i really couldn't appreciate that cover with its creasing. This is one book that really stands out in higher grades.
  5. I so wish i could have read marvel age books off the rack. Must be good memories. So much value packed into those 10-15 cent books! The experience you just noted any many others like is the reason they are so coveted today!
  6. ! Thanks! I have grown more fond of it over time.
  7. I am speechless. This has to be the BEST Group Shot of all time. Yeah but is every book a white paged pedigree? I think you still have some work to do! Still a blue chip investment grade collection. I really think Mass, PC, and Curator are my favorite for these issues. White mountain is acceptable too I suppose.
  8. Good luck! As for myself I have owned several over the years. The first was the highlight. Bought it back in about 1983 at comic convention in Kenilworth, NJ. Dealer was frustrated, had a bad con cause his silver age wasn't moving (only new x-men were selling like hotcakes at that point in time). He started yelling out FF48 IN NM for $30. I grabbed it. Easy 9.4 truly believe it would be a CGC 9.6 today! Sadly I sold it about 2 years later.
  9. great book but it reminds me i still need this one.....the life of a completist. It never ends!
  10. I think its an amazing copy. Not saying the technical grade is off. there is light spider creasing up and down the spine . Still its tough to find a 7.0 FF annual 1 with cover colors so unspoiled, a squarebound spine so square, and corners like this copy. So I don't know if i say it presents better than a 7.0 just that it has certain qualities that really stand out for the given grade.
  11. I went all in on this book. Just thought it was exceptional for grade with a perfect spine alignment and corners:
  12. I actually posted that one from my archives by mistake. I sold it years ago when i upgraded. It was a very nice mid-grade but the interior smelled strongly like it was stored in an attic or something
  13. Thanks. I have a lot more I would like to list but i need to make time to scan them first.
  14. Seems like i really nitpicked at a lot of copies of this issue before settling on this one. It's somewhat cherry at least:
  15. one of my favorite stories of the marvel age, cover is great too:
