  1. Doesn't the need for more staff usually equate with more work needing to be done? I see that instead as them growing as a business.
  2. Wow, whoever sent you those pics is a POS scammer since you see everything EXCEPT the part that is a dead giveaway (well aside form the roman numeral). They don't even give you an actual good image of the complete front of the comic. Glad you wrote to us here before making your purchase.
  3. I had answered that as well That explains why silly covers in the main character titles go for higher than the silly overs in the worlds finest title.
  4. Thanks, really appreciate the heads up! I do own this one already so I don't mind that it got snatched up this quick.
  5. It's not worth it. The way these SS series go is that they charge a fixed price for an unlimited amount of worth. So, mathematically speaking, for this to make sense for CGC, they charge an average amount of the tier worth. So to make the best of it, you would need to send a complete comic in a high grade. Your comic is worth less off the bat due to the green label and we don't even know the grade. A high grade (like 9.4) without the tatooz sells for $115. The yellow labels that make the comic worthwhile tend to have a combo of sigs, like JRJR AND Stan Lee. Apparently, this one does
  6. Yes, it's because of the sillier covers. And it's not a title that had a lasting run, like Batman, Superman, Action or Detective, so there isn't even that extra incentive to buy them to complete a run. It does feel like fluff, something extra not overly integral to the characters' publication history, and thus not overly integral to a collection of said characters. The first appearance of the Scarecrow doesn't have as much as a demand as his second appearance in Detective because in this world of CGC, all you see is the cover and this ain't the cover you have in mind for a key Scarecrow book:
  7. Has anyone bought from Harley through the internet? Does he send you scans upon request? I was surprised to see he had a site up.
  8. I can only speak for Hockey cards and yes (compared to comics). Here is how common they are https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Lot-10-1990-O-Pee-Chee-Premier-Jaromir-Jagr-ROOKIE-RC-50-ALL-PSA-10-GEM-MINT/353206407816?hash=item523cbe1288:g:UFQAAOSw0M9fY~S- Look how cheap you can buy this 10 rookie card for https://www.ebay.ca/itm/1990-Upper-Deck-Hockey-Jaromir-Jagr-ROOKIE-RC-356-SGC-10-GEM-MINT/353206409096?hash=item523cbe1788:g:PG8AAOSwlJhfY~UF
  9. I checked some other copies out there and they don't have this defect.
  10. Even if it is chipping, it is really heavy chipping, to the point where it will be seen as a damaging defect regardless.
  11. Could be, but that's not how selling raw comics works. No one but CGC can tell you what the CGC grade will be. And plus, CGC would still give this a universal grade by default. I am thinking this was just a mistake on their part.
  12. No clue about page quality but I'd say 8.0 - 8.5
  13. 7.0-8.0 Should be white pages but it doesn't matter since it's a 10$ book. Really not worth grading in this grade.
  14. 6.0 makes sense but a press could help. I could see this go up to 7.0 at a maximum.
  15. That's a beautiful copy but the missing pieces in the back make me think this could get a 5.0 at best.
  16. Maybe Fawcetts are finally going up. Captain Marvel Adventures 2 and 3 in 1.5 hit some high prices in the recent Heritage Auction. Maybe more will come out of the woodwork. https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/superhero/captain-marvel-adventures-2-fawcett-publications-1941-condition-fr-gd/a/122038-15109.s?ic2=mybidspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyBids-101116 https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/superhero/captain-marvel-adventures-3-fawcett-publications-1941-condition-fr-gd-metallic-silver-ink-lightning-bolt-cover/a/122038-15110.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Archive-MyBids-101116
  17. Lol, the lot was withdrawn. I wonder why? If any Heritage rep is reading this, learn to grade, this is embarrassing.
  18. Your right, for one book (and a big one at that) it's fine.
  19. I think this all comes to show that Jim Lee doesn't really have an obvious key compared to most other famous comic artists.
