  1. The reason I would prefer (and have) my books at mycomicshop rather than here is because I don't want the hassle of shipping. Especially from Canada, which could be pricey and a dealbreaker to some who don't want to deal with cross boarder stuff. So by sending all my inventory to mycomicshop, all that is circumvented. Plus I dont want to have to deal with returns. 8% comission sounds like a great deal to only send to one place once and not have to do more.
  2. He's been doing lots of art ever since he became high ranking at DC. Like interiors in Suicide Squad. And he does quite a few covers, like one for each of the DKR III issues and the recent Batman wedding issue, to name a few.
  3. Mycomicshop is where I have my books on auction right now.
  4. Just do it before the pandemic is over and people have other things to do than stare at a computer.
  5. This doesn't look like a faulty case, it's just the spot where the plastic comes out of the mold, hence why all cgc holders look uneven on the sides. That's why nothing was mentioned, it's not a faulty case.
  6. This is being sold as a 2.5 by heritage and yet the same defect described will get a 0.5 from CGC (proof can be seen below). Their own site says they wouldn't give more than a 1.0 to a comic with a coupon cut. "Captain Marvel Adventures #18 (Fawcett Publications, 1942) Condition: GD+. Origin and first appearances of Mary Marvel and the Marvel Family. Classic painted cover by C. C. Beck. Art by Beck and Mac Raboy. Cream to off-white pages. Tape on interior of front cover. Fawcett Comix Cards clipped from back cover. Overstreet 2020 GD 2.0 value = $811." https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/superhero/captain-marvel-adventures-18-fawcett-publications-1942-condition-gd-/a/122038-15112.s?ic2=mybidspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyBids-101116 Here is how CGC would grade such a comic:
  7. And that's not even the first appearance of Hush, it's the first appearance of Tommy Elliot, the person most established with Hush (Harvey Dent and Jason Todd had that costume as well). I think that also comes into play with how Hush isn't as popular. Because the character was more of a mystery figure, where his ID was unknown (like Jeph Loeb's two previous 12 issue mystery Batman stories), his origin isn't clear cut. To the point that in the animated film adaptation, Hush isn't his own character but revealed to be the Riddler instead. And even after the Hush storyline, they kept playing with who Hush really was and wasn't. As a Batman fan, I feel Hush is more of a storyline than a mainstay character.
  8. Deathstroke came first, Deadpool is based on Deathstroke.
  9. By next year Deadpool and Venom will both have 2 high profile films where they are the main character. Meanwhile Hush didn't even appear in the Lego Batman movie meaning Condiment King has more time on the big screen than Hush at the moment.
  10. There was a set of overstreet guides in there from the first one on. He sold the set for 2000 so he only has 8000 to go before breaking even on the investment. He will be sending some in to grade so hopefully he will learn how to grade now.
  11. If they are in cgc holders, go for Clink! They provide a better return
  12. Just wanted to write in since I remembered 2 other Jim Lee keys. Infinite crisis 5 when Jaime becomes the new blue beetle (he first appears in issue 3, also a jim lee cover) And then there's The Casting 1 with the first appearance of the Dark Knights.
  13. The way things are going, she's clearly going to be Aunt May in the next Spider-man reboot
  14. If Harley only appeared in that comic and not on the show, she'd probably be less popular and thus never entering the cultural zeitgeist as she has now, which would make her comic worth A LOT less. And let me ask you this, what about Journey into Mystery 83? Stories of Thor had been around for over 1000 years before that comic, by your line of questioning, there is no reason for that comic to be worth much of anything.
  15. That is still accurate BUT the amount of the virus decreases a lot within that 24 hours.
  16. Oof, ok that answers it well. Leave it in that holder and dont touch it. It can't get higher but it could get lower, so avoid extra handling.
  17. Your right about something else though, how a coupon cut does not automatically bring a book down to 0.5 by CGC standards. It can, but only if it affects the story (since then it's not just a coupon cut but an Incomplete book) AND if it's in the lower grade range. Like the example below. If a comic is in a decent grade and the coupon cut does not affect the story, then the book can get the 1.0 industry standard.
  18. The one's I've gotten that "look" amazing are those where everything is great except for a spine split. MCS brings the grade down bad, but I don't mind As for the grading standards, coupons cut are acceptable at the 1.0 grade. It's written as such in Heritage's grading policy and Mycomicshop's where both companies state that a comic with a coupon cut is allowed at a FR grade. Here is the quote from MCS: https://www.mycomicshop.com/help/grading " A comic book in FR condition may have non-story elements such as coupons, ad pages, or Marvel Value Stamps cut or torn out of the book. Types of damage that place a comic in FR range include: A spine split of up to 2/3 the length of the book, a missing back cover provided the front cover is still attached, severe water damage or residue damage, mold, and paper deterioration due to oxidation."
  19. From that video, it's clear he has no clue what Near Mint means. While those comics looked nice, they were all more or less in the 5.0-7.0 range, judging from their spines.
