  1. Just to give another angle to this, I would never send stuff in myself, at least not at the volume I am handling. My tiers are all over the place. So to get the lowest cost, I send everything (say 20 books of varying tiers) to someone who will press them (cheaper than CCS) and send mine in along with others using their discounted dealer rate. I send all my different tiered books at once, I get them all back at once and I benefit from a discount even though I don't pay for a membership, since the dealer's savings are passed onto me, all while getting the best possible pressing job, spending less than I would with CCS.
  2. The price remains the same no matter how many you submit. The COST is a different matter since if you include shipping back and forth then the more comics you send, the more that cost is spread out. It's all dependent on the value of your book (or what you would like in compensation in case CGC loses or damages your book).
  3. WOOOHOOOO My comics from the Bagley signing have have shipped out so now I know the grades and they are the best case scenario (meaning nothing went wrong at any point):
  4. Thanks, I looked a bit into it. They must have coordinated themselves behind the scenes since Batmsn 180 was out just the month before.
  5. Glad I found a club I could join! Doom is my favourite Marvel character so I just had to get this book. I had bought it as a raw 2.0 so getting this back from CGC was super sweet!
  6. Does this predate lord deathman's appearance in the west?
  7. Yeah something like that. Or simply not counted at all if it looks like there is no tear anymore.
  8. with that also coinciding with the last site copyright, do we know if he is still alive. There are quite a few obituaries for Nick Popes since then.
  9. Looking to make money from people who think it's worth it. That's all.
  10. I am sure it wont be a better long term investment. All of these comics will still be around 30 years from now, most in the very same condition they are today. I dont see why it would be worth more later. You'd be better off getting the comic for 8$ and using the money saved to buy a book with better odds of being worth more later.
  11. Ok, so as you see there, it is a 4.5 CONSERVED. What that means is this is the highest grade it could ever get, ignoring the flaws that would make it go lower. You can see that list of flaws in the "conservation includes" section. For instance, it does not count the tears found on the comic that have been sealed. That 4.5 is not the grade it would get if you counted the flaws like the tears, and thus won't be worth as much as a 4.5 in a blue label (pictured below)
  12. Her appearance in Brave and the Bold #200 is in a preview at the end of the comic. And yet it has been established for 30 years now as her first appearance, along with that of Geoforce and the Outsiders as a whole. So now, I ask you, in light of what you posted, are the references wrong (should they get a clue)? Edit: why am I getting a deja vu about this conversation.
  13. It's no majority or minority, it's just fact vs fiction. Let's try this again, just give me a legitimate example (like copy an image of a slabbed book from the internet) and ask me the exact question you want the answer to using that example, and it will be answered.
  14. Question for Valiantman, which issue do you believe to be the first appearance of DC's Katana? Yes, it is partly related to the bingo card.
  15. That's a terrible reason to send it in. If it's for preservation, then you have your answer, don't send it. There are archival materials to store your comic in that are better (like mylars or mylytes) and you won't risk any snafus during shipping.
  16. Only have it pressed if getting a high grade is possible. if you open it and you see some colour breaking spine ticks, then pressing it won't help.
  17. Not at all. If the book looks like a 6.0 and is conserved, then it will get a 6.0 conserved. If it has a 4.5 and is conserved,, then that's because it looks like a 4.5 The grade will always be lower if you choose to get a blue label instead since it will consider all the flaws (like glue on cover, sealed tears), not just what the book looks like.
  18. I dont think the OP is asking about getting it graded or what the books would get, they just want to attach a cover.
  19. The only way to know if sending it to get graded is worthwhile is to verify for flaws and you can only do that by removing it from the bag.
